"why are there even busy signals"

especially for a business
if all the lines are in use, it should fucking roll to voicemail

this is like how you know that the internet isn't all that, because it's not instantaneous. If it's not instantaneous, it's broken

how am I getting a busy signal at a doctor's office

now I finally got through to an ophthalmologist's office, he's not in this week but his receptionist told me it's relatively urgent for me to see someone sooner rather than later.

What in the entire fuck

the wait times. i think this man-made created opportunistic loophole is why the urgent care business has blossomed over the last few years.

only for a muhfugga to come pick-upand y changed their order.

"DIDN'T YOU GET MY MESSAGES?! I CHANGED IT FROM PEPPERONI TO BACON!!"

If my primary physician isn't available there's a list of at least 20, I think actually a lot more, I can choose from. I can do this via a web portal that shows me their available appointments for the next week or so.

Of course my notes are digital.

Of course they take credit card.

I can re-order prescriptions via the web portal. I can go back through prior blood tests I've taken. I'm not sure how far that goes back, I got bored scrolling through after a while.

If I wanted to I could get a discount for my doctor's visits on account of my Fijian heritage, as my insurance is for specialists and the big stuff. As it is, the $40NZD or so it costs me for a consultation isn't a huge deal.

That's some potent snake oil the medical, pharmaceutical and insurance industries are peddling to you lot over there.

Just IMO though.

I have to call her for appointments, but I can order refills of prescriptions through the pharmacy website and they'll contact her for approval.

But yeah, the whole not taking credit cards thing is just weird.

i asked my local pizza joint why the busy signal. they said they purposely take the phone off the hook when there's full ovens + order backlog. call it the proverbial metering lights on at the bridge.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.
