asked him to do it, I was expecting a no, or the usual Hollywood runaround, but nah. He gave me his cell, and told me to hit him in two days...I went to his house, he recorded about five minutes of takes (I am PISSED my computer crashed and lost these), and then he listened to the mix and was making sure I had all those throwback songs from before my era. He told me all types of stories about him in the 80's, and how he connected a lot of artists back then. After I dropped the mix, he called me one day with Captain Rapp on the phone...he's the first artist you hear on the mix, and he made the first ever West Coast Rap record to get pressed and sold.

Dude was definitely as genuine and great as they come. He had a stroke and a heart attack two years ago, and he was in a coma for a few days...but I thought he had fully recovered. He was well enough to do "Dope" and he hosted an event last year in Sept, so I was thinking all was well with him.

R.I.P. for real.
