"the concept of time..."

sometimes it moves slow
sometimes quick
it's all relative tho...

I told a man I wasnt interested after a few weeks of ignoring his communication. He called me on it. I wasn't sure how to tell him.

my bff from high school is coming down tonight. I posted about her last year. She was in a coma..her baby daddy slammed her on the head. She made it through. She's my live friend so the weekend should be fun.

What else?

We often ask why days went by much slower when we were kids and it's because we hadn't experienced many days at that point.
The older we get the shorter a day appears because you've experienced so many.

Which makes me fear for old age. Does it just zoom past?

When the blow is delivered relatively early on and cleanly, it's done and over with, and he'll move on pretty quickly. Like getting guillotined after a show trial rather than starved to death in solitary confinement. You have him wasting away in the hole right now, when you could have just chopped his head off after the first two weeks, or whatever. He could grow new head.

to go on. All he had to go on were the best/worst possibilities of what his brain imagined happened. Spoiler: his brain resorted to the worst possible thoughts. Probably worse than the plain old truth, which was that you weren't interested in him.

I changed anger to pain, because you don't deserve his anger over simple rejection. But his pain is real, and you say you care about that.

but I don't have my degree. There's a 'degree'd' clique and then 'regular nxggas'

I've been replaced by a nxgga with a degree so she feels like she's dealing with an 'equal'

finite vs infinite games.

I can't believe I'm SALTY about this shit. It's killin me. LOL

speaking of coworkers...

I had been noticing this woman because her countenance always appeared sad. she just told me she has cancer. There's never been any interaction between us and I'm not sure why today it happened but i asked if I could hug her and I lost it...

This may be weird but I've never met...touched anyone with cancer. I need to figure out how I can help her.

From Samuel Johnson's Lives of the Poets series, published in 3 volumes between 1779 and 1781, on Alexander Pope:

…the distance is commonly very great between actual performances and speculative possibility. It is natural to suppose, that as much as has been done to-day may be done to-morrow; but on the morrow some difficulty emerges or some external impediment obstructs. Indolence, interruption, business, and pleasure; all take their turns of retardation; and every long work is lengthened by a thousand causes that can, and ten thousand that cannot, be recounted. Perhaps no extensive and multifarious performance was ever effected within the term originally fixed in the undertaker's mind. He that runs against Time, has an antagonist not subject to casualties.
