"Updated email...and yes, its still Saturday LOL" Thu Dec-08-16 04:26 PM by Damali
so cuz y'all were so aggy, I actually spoke to all ten managers individually and not one expressed any concern about Saturday. I do not work w/a bunch of kiss ass folks, so it's genuine. Most are looking forward to the retreat because its something that's never been done here before...my boss is/was uptight and ne-ver has food at any meetings. he's way stingy. Anyway, here's the updated email text: (which i have not yet sent)
Team,
Please save the date for our first Management Retreat! Date: Saturday, March 11th Time: 10am – 5pm. Light breakfast & coffee will be available at 930am, agenda will start promptly at 10am. Lunch will be served between 1 and 2. Dinner (optional) will be offsite at a restaurant TBD. Location: TBD Dress: Very Casual (hair rollers and slippers allowed)
While I do require everyone’s presence for the meeting; the dinner is optional. You can let me know, as it gets closer, if you will be attending the dinner. If you will not be attending the dinner, you will receive a photo journal of how much fun we had without you.
Agenda:
We will come together as a team, to discuss organizational culture, work processes, leadership, communications, with some team-building activities mixed in.
Them niggas talking shit about you in the break room
j/k
Congrats, what's for dinner?
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

The comedic touches are good and not trying too hard. Seems like you're trying to send a message that the new environment will be less uptight. If I worked in the department I would get a tinge of hope that work was gonna be more fun going forward...and again, you didn't overshoot that mark and illicit eye-rolling by getting too corny or trying too hard. I think it's better than the first draft in terms of tone-setting.
