I had been there about a month before my boss made me his bobtail driver. I was like 29 and new to the moving biz and he made me a driver over his 45 year old friend with 20 years in the game because his friend was an unreliable junkie.

The downside was that he gave me the unreliable junkie as my helper.

So I'm trying to balance my job of running each job with sifting through the good, bad, dumb, and/or irresponsible instructions of my boss's boy.

My boss was adamant about driver safety, staying at the speed limit and all that and I figured I could get some experience in the bobtail before jumping to a rig so I drove to the letter....55mph included. Anyhow I'd ride with my idiot old head helper when he was driving a few times and he drove like a maniac.

So we'rere doing a move and this motherfucker kept pestering me to speed up. He finally pressed his foot on mine and I damn near lost it. I elbowed him a few times before pulling over and calling my boss. I wanted to kill the motherfucker and considered leaving him stranded on the freeway but that would have been as bad for me as fighting the idiot.

Thankfully I got my current job not long after. I came too close to blows too many times with those dudes. His crew was full of daytime drunks and meth heads.
