and even I remember Cambell's known for his 'hottie' type superhero designs...in his defense I think that's the only way he knows how to draw them*
The skin lightening I think is a bit unfair tho.
*Speaking of big titties anatomically incorrect comics, when I went to Comic con a few weeks back I was struck just how archaic and cheesy the style looks. There were tables of artists who drew that style (some of em women) and they all-looked-the-same.

except Dani Moonstar. She was prolly about as flat as I've ever seen a female Marvel character.

'cause they're out there like that. Not sure what kind of parents these little girls have, but I used to see that shit at my eldest daughter's high school all the fuckin time whenever I had to drop her off or pick her up.

I get the over sexualizing issue but the difference between the two versions is far more apparent in the color. Also she looked like a grown woman in the darker version just her breasts were smaller and no emphasis on hips. █▆▇▅▇█▇▆▄▁▃ Big PEMFin H & z's "I ain't no entertainer, and ain't trying to be one. And as long as white people are drawing and putting US up front they'll keep going either light or "african dark". We know this, we've seen it, it's gross, but it's to be expected.
But with the over sexualization of a young adult, still a teen, even in fictionalization. It's the continued conversation that's so detrimental to young women. The one that says that it doesn't matter how smart you are (in this case one of the smartest characters in this fictional universe) you still need to be sexy.
And I get it, there's not too many ugly or average characters in any fictionalization. But there's a difference between that and sexy.
As a race, we're fine. Colorism is as old as time. But as girls become women in this world that they're getting more opportunities and positive representations in all facets of life, it's important to continue that path. The over sexualization at this point is as outdated as mammies or Cleveland Indians logo.
