This is a major loss. He was a very good dude too. He did a lot for foster kids. Most people with his background would have acted out or curled into a ball. Instead, he used his talent to change his life and others.
His production innovations in R&B were always vastly underrated....He had Prince looking over his shoulder in the early '80s....I always loved his sound....
Rest In Power Kashif......!

The DJ at my aunt's BBQ threw on I just Gotta Have You and I got hyped. Went over to dap dude up and say how much I love that song. I didn't know Kashif's name growing up but I felt his music and influence. Glad he made his mark. 80's R&B was better in part because of him.
