the poll was inspired by Karen Horney's theory of neurosis. According to this theory, people have three solutions :

moving toward people (the sef-effacing solution : the appeal of love, compliance)

moving against people (the expansive solution : the appeal of mastery, agression)

moving away from people (resignation : the appeal of freedom, detachment)


and I thought I'd include the different different positions one can be in involving a crime/abuse : perpetrator, victim and bystander.
