"violence against women."
Wed Sep-07-16 09:01 PM by Kwesi

this is a tough post to make, but i think i have to type it out.

so, the shit got its own wiki entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violence_against_women

it's a whole rabbit-hole.

... and like when wars happen, women get the shortest of shortest end of the stick en masse.

for some reason, i always try to place myself on the ground in these scenarios.

like, how is a whole rack of bammas gonna be gruesome & horrific to a whole group of women people.

the reasons listed be like:

ethnic cleansing.
torture for information.
sex slavery.

and none of that shit makes sense. or seems appropriate.

maybe im just tough typing.

... either way, the original title of this post was ' do you support any causes that don't directly affect you?'

line of defence (usually men, or those who can fend for themselves) is killed off, they're pretty much fair game. Ditto for children.

Opening scene a women getting kidnapped then her appendages sliced up. Ten minutes later, a woman got raped. Turned it off.

I didn't think I cared that much. But I'm sitting there looking at fiction thinking how many times I've seen that type of scene. And that if it was black folks I'd have been tapped out.
