Joe saying he created being instropective when he didn't even create the flow he stole from Young Chris / Jay-Z (who stole it from Chris and made it popular) whisper rap flow for majority of his discography. Fact.

because he easily does it with the low self esteem fat ass hot strippers he dates. And when he can't control the conversation he doesn't know what the fuck to do but be defensive or change the subject. Fucking laughable. You can see through that mans insecurities from a mile away. What a fucking loser.

26:23
Joe : "..I hung up and said that would be embarrassing to Marissa"

Joe goes on to say he would have had to say certain things pertaining to Marissa and Peter would be embarrassing and wouldnt make for the greatest dialogue

Peter says a few seconds later "I don't know what I would be embarrassed about, maybe Marissa"

27:04
Joe : "why do you keep saying the word embarrassed?"
Marisssa : "Youuuu said it!"
Joe : "Is that a word I used? I don't imply shit I say it...."

SMH. Fucking loser.

Because of who he deals with he thinks measured tone + being able to state an argument(even completely nonsensical) makes him smart, lol.

'Clipse mentioned it above, its why that Tax Season episode was so hilarious; Taxstone has no measured tone and can't really state an argument(lol) but he knows critical thinking; he was confused off the bat at what Joe was saying.

Joe reminds me of that old head who's drunk at the bar and thinks he's giving you Einstein knowledge but its just gibberish. Maybe he is on some type of drugs...dude's like a sovereign citizen lawyer.

Joe expected to make a comeback with the Drake disses, they fell flat now he's acting like he's past it. he's embarrassed and feeling like a failure again, so he's burning everything around him to the ground

Rosenberg is hurt and trying to intervene with a dude he cared about, he was ready to cry so he lashed out to show his former friend how hurt he is

Budden may need to retire and become a full time podcaster when Rage & The Machine inevitably flops

wouldn't let him take charge. refusing to answer questions. he should be embarrassed, but he won't allow himself to think that way.

and to the sound man's point, was he ever that good of a rapper? I can't name a song of his and really don't know much about him, but do folks really think he's good at rapping? songs I've heard didn't make me want to check further for him.

Pump Me Up was the shit but he didnt have anymore songs that hit like that...

his career reminds me of Craig Mack. Huge first single that was everywhere but was never able to follow it up plus I think rap moved on to something else around the time he finally dropped his first album.

I was never a big fan so ionno.. my memory may be off.

is that Joe seemed to get some of the older "backpack" heads to give him (and the other Slaughterhouse dudes) a lil underground love with his own mixtapes and those SH albums.

all them can spit, but collectively they have few memorable songs. they do give THEIR fans what they want tho, so I aint mad at them

its hard as shit for most rappity rappers make good rap songs.

People like when they can sing along to a song.

but old head backers will always appreciate a good technical rapper regardless of records sold or crossover appeal.

because I think Eminem is the only person that gets mainstream love and love on the charts for putting out rappity rap. Granted, he has a slew of classic songs/guest verses.

and honestly, most of his big records are kinda clown music.

He doesn't really go in like he could and that's actually hard to do when you are a rappity rapper but he also had a great mentor.

That's just me. Royce is the better MC overall but I don't play his work like that. Oddly enough I love Slaughterhouse and see Joe as the weak link on many of their tracks.

****to be clear I can't fuck with the second album too much. The mixtape they dropped prior was dope though.

Ok, so yall don't think Joe Budden is a good
friend and yall disagree with how he does
business, but yall really gonna sit there
and talk about it for 30 minutes? Terrible
interview. Not that I think Joe is a great
person or anything, but you bring someone to
your station for a makeshift therapy sesson/
intervention? Foh with this OWN Dr. Phil shit man.
Move on to another subject, geez.

Folks talk about new rappers being bitchmade,
but it's more of an entire industry movement
with shit like this happening. I can't believe
grown niggas are cosigning this daytime talk
show shit.

he's one of those people that has a VERY hard time admitting when they are wrong instead of just saying "i'm sorry, i was wrong" which really cuts out all of the bullshit AND people can actually respect.

They wanted him up there to talk about Drake. He did that and then moved straight into promoting his album. However, they wanted more controversial statements out of him but he refused to budge and pivoted to his album. The second he pivots to his album they ambush him with their grievances.

Joe came out looking great in all of this sonning everyone in the room by refusing to play their game. I can't believe they wanted him to apologize to Marissa. He took the high road once again just like that time he did the same with Tax.

A few weeks If that, talking about his album. Every interview he has done was solely based on the fact that he's been talking about Drake. He was just on Hot Ones (Complex) eating chicken wings talking about Drake. His first single he's promoting has a kid from the same city as Drake who was also trying to throw shots at Drake LOL

Foh about he was there to talk about just his album. If Joe was as smart as he thinks he shouldn't be so fucking dense then. Don't set s situation up and then be salty when it's not working lol

He came up there with AraabMuzik and they knew it......

He knew going in they wanted him to talk about Drake and he did that. It wasn't enough for them and the ambush began. This wasn't an intervention so much as an attack on Joe. Joe even said he would not address situations that revolved around people in the room because he did not want to hurt their feelings.

Say what they want about the Breakfast Club calling Joe a woman beater but at least they are honest and consistent. None of this fake love BS then attack to garner interest.

I could see this being viewed as an ambush if there weren't deep personal ties between Joe, Rosenberg, and Mari.

I get Joe's stance when he says he didn't come to discuss his personal dirt with Rosenberg and Mari and that this wasn't the medium for that discussion.

I'd be in his corner had he taken that tact from jump *and* said he'd be willing to talk about that later but dude had two people talking about how much they care about him and his stance was basically "and?". There's just no way to justify that.

I'm not sure what Joe expected from their format, particularly considering the deeply personal nature of his music.

Mari and Rosenberg went in on how this is the way he treats everyone in his life and how this is his MO but the Joe Budden I enjoy listening to seems to present an image that would be all in on discussing this right there and then.

Something just seems off about this. I can't really clap to the Hot 97 folks handled it either. Joe looks VERY bad here but I don't see how anyone here can clap to them airing out family business like that if they really cared for him.

If they really care about him and know him so well and if this is how he handles everything.... My guess is this reaction wasn't entirely unexpected.

I can't support Joe here but they look pretty terrible here too. So maybe it was an ambush and he played right into it. I've watched twice and it was especially uncomfortable the second time.

- it started off with "haha you were pressed to dis Drake, he didnt respond to you", Joe played along patiently despite being visibly annoyed
- Rosenberg went from subliminals to "Dickhead and The Machine" his lack of street smarts is ridiculous, but Joe still let it fly
- they got to the personal conversation, Joe Budden is cold in the sense that once you betray him you're dead to him (also Rosenberg wanted way too much credit for helping him start a podcast)
- Joe Budden even said "I didnt want to have that conversation to stop from hurting anyone" that looks like a man who knows his potential to snap, trying to stay under control
- Ebro, Rosenberg and Marisa pushed the issue (the latter two knowing him well enough to see an explosion coming) for good radio and Youtube views
- he finally gave them what they wanted, then they further deflected as if he caused the issue at the moment
- he leaves and they proceed to shit on him for another 8 minutes while pretending to be concerned. while mentioning him going to Power 105 and other personal shit

I do think Hot97 was wrong to have a fucking intervention on air, but Peter did give him the Bevel advertising. And he did provide Joe with a studio that he used up until the last podcast most likely.

Peter helped. And Joe tried to act like he didn't at all. And Joe's whole "help a rapper find a free studio" was just deflecting.

I honestly think Joe didn't really mean half of that shit and was just reacting to being ambushed and pressed in a corner like that. I'm sure he's gonna talk about it this week.
