"Trump or Clinton: Are you ready to make an early prediction?"

Im hate to say it, but I think Trump is gonna be our next POTUS. The White House is gonna host the next reality tv show with real politicians doing all the "work" in the background.

The signs are all there.

Remember the civil rights act that let us negros drink from the same water fountain? Before it got signed into law the popular vote barely above 50%

https://ropercenter.cornell.edu/public-opinion-on-civil-rights-reflections-on-the-civil-rights-act-of-1964/

As far as the police state is concerned, American's have long proved a hypocritical disconnect when it comes to what kind of rights they are willing to possibly give up. Let me keep my guns in case of tyranny, but monitor my phone/internet and have cops rolling around like nazi era SS because they will never do anything to me cause im a good white american, etc

this is the battle of hated candidates and trump is hated more. plus, he doesnt have the campaign infrastructure ground game and analytics to win. i'm convinced his campaign is staffed with temps from a temp agency. he can't win on old white votes alone. that segment is dying off. he needs the latin vote and the women's vote and he doesn't have those.

How many folks are really undecided right now anyway? I believe that a lot of folks are locked into their candidate and won't be budging. Hillary should crush him on the ins & outs of policy, law, etc. but he's going to score points with his base by, "telling it like it is."

I think Pence will be able to hold his own in the debates. He's pretty dry & boring but he's able to competently hit all the GOP platform points.

Traditionally....the democratic nominee has to veer right after winning the nomination. So if Hillary veers left to satisfy Bernie supporters then she loses the centrist votes. If she follows tradition and veers right (which she probably should if she wants to win) then she further alienates Bernie supporters and risks them staying home.

i hope she focuses on getting out the Dem base. the undecideds and hand wringers and antiHillarys can go fuck themselves. including the ones who post here.

but if i were i wouldn't assume that i have my base in my pocket. i wouldn't waste time and energy chasing after votes i will likely never get and risk losing votes that i could easily get.

so i'd focus on my base. i'd be more of myself than ever. i'd focus on voter turnout among those who are most likely to vote for me. in doing all of that i'd expect to sway enough undecideds and idiots that i'd win. but i wouldn't turn centrist trying to get anti-Trump Republicans. and i wouldn't need to go overly leftist to get the anti-Hillary Berniebros b/c the smart ones among them already know there's little difference between Hillary and Bernie on the issues that matter the most. even Bernie himself has said this. and he's said it more than once - even when he was actively campaigning. the Bernie supporters who don't see this are likely more anti-Hillary than pro-Bernie. fuck them. wasting time kissing ass on those bitches might cost her votes w/her base.

so i'm not Hillary nor am i working for her and she's not a sports team and i don't identify w/her or her campaign. if she wins or loses it's not about me personally and i don't make this about me. i'm not running. what she eats don't make me shit. i would like to see her in the WH b/c i think she's the best candidate out there and she'll make a great POTUS. but i'm not #TeamHillary. i'm not a 13 year old fangirl. i'm not a sports radio caller. i do not identify w/her or the campaign i just want her to win.

fuck you.

if a person could watch that RNC shit and not know how to vote then there's not much more that can be said. the GOP showed us exactly what the party is about. there are no more questions.

if you're with that shit then vote Trump and the other down-ticket GOPs. if you're not with that shit then vote Clinton. period. if you're delusional then vote Johnson or Stein. but whatever...it should be crystal clear now. if it's not then maybe the person lacks the capacity to choose and shouldn't vote at all. i dunno.

that exists separately from the people you're saying fuck you to.

the base that she needs to get out is left wing. the base that she needs to get out may not be undecided (there aren't many undecideds) but are generally apathetic and needs to get excited about voting for her.

bernie supporters, whatever their failings, showed up to vote in the primaries and caucuses. that's a big fucking deal. they are worth her time because they're likely voters now and in the midterms. they're the people the dems need.

matter of fact, almost all of them will be voting for hillary, and the only thing likely to fuck that up is people being huge assholes about it.

but no, fuck them!

and while we're at it let's not pretend people who can't name vice presidents and won't watch the convention are somehow going to be moved into voting by our magnificent centrist respectability politics. she needs to get out the vote, but the convention bump was going to be there regardless, and the organizing she has to do to get the vote out has very little to do with tim kaine.

the fact that you're making these points at all points to hillary and the party's problems.

So today it's easy to say Trump will win. That's the safe bet. It's for ppl who take comfort in being right. So if he wins they saw it coming. As if that means something. I guess it would mean there is still some order in the world - they still have some control.

Fuck that. I don't know who will win. It's closer than I want and that saddens me. Of course I want Hillary to win and not just bc Trump is scary but bc increasingly I actually like her as a candidate and I think she'll make a great POTUS. Plus history and stuff. Im sad that so many can't see it. I'm not interested in showing any of you ppl who don't. If you feel some kinda way abou her you need healing.

Hillary is not Satan, and real talk if we can't make history from a progressive standpoint, I hope yall at least get to relish in the history of a woman President who you also like. We are doing it at the risk of Trump, but I can't anybody for that, so good luck to yall.

For all of the hand-wringing, Trump still needs to flip A LOT of key states to win the election.

And as alluded to above, of course to some it feels like Trump now, barel 12 hours since his first HUGE moment. But HRC gets all of next week to herself. No break in-between for Trump to ask in. Shoot, I wouldn't be surprised if she announces her VP pick today, just to eat into his news cycle.

As SoWhat said, cynicism is easy.

A summer of police getting killed or a serious terrorist attack in September favors Trump, I think.

Stability favors Clinton.

Maybe I'm wrong but that's my concern.

i still blame hip-hop.

in a way, yup.

casting a vote for Trump now means you are a bigot who supports bigotry. there's no excuse for it. it is what it is.

i have a Latina coworker who's a conservative Xtian and she's voting for Trump b/c she's anti-Hillary and pro-life. that was b4 the convention. she also is deeply concerned w/immigration issues - she's kinda on the fence about amnesty but doesn't agree w/Trump about mass deportation or building a wall on the Mexican border. but she's so anti-Hillary that she looks the other way on that issue. well, that was b4 the convention. i wonder where she stands now. if she saw all of that this week and still plans to vote Trump she's a flat out bigot who supports bigotry. or she's a coward. i should go ask her.

fuck you.

If you think Obama did a shitty job then I get having no love for HRC.

But these weird folks who love Obama and hate Hillary make no sense to me.

I mean it kind of makes sense from a mysogny and the effectiveness of the right wing media perspective but other than that it makes no sense to me.

She supported Goldwater in fucking high school. Most people follow the political views of their parents at that age. Once she was in college she almost immediately switched sides. By the time she finished law school she was immediately on the staff of the fucking Watergate prosecution.

>has always been in politics,

It's bad that she's cared about and worked on these issues her whole life?

There was a lot more left-wing support for that crime bill than most people want to see in retrospect.

>and called us superpredators, accused
>Obama of being a muslim sympathizer...

Really? Why has Obama supported her so fervently, for the entire length of the primary, if she "accused him of being a muslim sympathizer"?

But as a politicians he is probably indistinguishable from Hillary (except for her hawkishness).

They all white except for Obama. A person's views as a younger person mean jack to me (Clarence Thomas was black panther-ish type in college), my mom has always been in politics and we all getting brand new about how we talked about crime in the 90s. Not familiar with the muslim sympathizer remark.

Well yeah if it comes down to personality and who you can identify with, Obama is my man but I have sympathy for HRC because, my mom was in politics and I know first hand sexism for professional women works.

Yeah I don't think people realize how the pervasiveness of the Fox News talking points and sexism informs their position.

...has been on point throughout this post.....

A lot of the hand wringing I see in this thread is coming from three kinds of folks...

1. People who are legitimately concerned about the political rise of Trump....

2. Folks who are so blinded by H. Clinton hate that they actually see no difference between ol' girl and Trump (which is about the silliest, dumbest conclusion to be made)...

3. Cynical, contrarian ass mufuckers who (like SoWhat said) just want to be right....

It's like people have never watched a party convention before. Even Palin and McCain got a bump after their wacky spectacle when they were going up against Obeezy and Joe....The Dems have the Electoral map on their side. Complacency is the only enemy. Women, college educated whites, blacks, browns, and Asians represent H. Clinton's base. It's about bringing them out to the voting booth alongside reasonable folk who see Trump for the empty suit that he is....

I think his presidency is less likely than I thought a few months ago. but it's still in the cards. I couldn't even watch the speech last night. Thought it might be entertaining and funny....but it was more like watching a nightmare unfold. Had to turn it off. Too disturbing.

In anycase....since when did 'You just want to be right' become a constructive argument in regards to predictions? lol

The northeast and west coast blue walls will hold
the bible belt, midwest flyover country, and TX will stay red

This election will come down to these 6 states
Trump could win FL, OH, and MI easily
he'll have a harder time in the other 3 but he can win them too
same thing for Hillary

I'm from FL so hear this:

outside of Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, FL is the deep red south
the Miami latinos are split. The Cuban republican majority that has ran Miami for 3 decades is *silently* for Trump and so are their constituents. He has a huge business and real estate presence there. Then you have other than Cuban latinos who are rising in numbers but have no political power yet and are solid Dems.
The younger generation, Cubans included, are Dems also.

Orlando and Tampa have mostly PR dems and older cubans who aren't rabid republicans.

But then you have Rick Scott and Bondi, who can be counted on to activate some election day fuckery just like Jeb Bush did. In fact, there will be some fuckery.

Favoring Clinton, sure, but a 40% likelihood of Trump winning is not anywhere near small enough for me to be comfortable.

She'll get her own convention bounce, maybe making those odds 65-35 or even 70-30. But that doesn't really change anything.

The debates will almost certainly have an effect, but I don't think anyone honestly knows who they will favor.

The electoral map looks good at first blush. I took a lot of comfort from the fact that if Hillary wins Florida then she can afford to lose nearly every other swing state. But still, all of that is accounted for in the FiveThirtyEight odds.

Reasonably, I think I'd give Hillary a slight edge, but I don't want anybody to think of it that way because it would lead to complacency, which we really can't afford.

im two minds with this
im really looking forward to the debates
but im hoping its the kind of debate that is really a debate
where people actually have to answer the questions, and are held accountable if they dont
we might have to import a facilitator for that to happen, though

Sorry, that's a peeve of mine.

That said, if you really think either that Hillary isn't a progressive, or that sitting it out and implicitly supporting Trump is okay, then I doubt your consciousness just as much as your conscience.

con·science
ˈkän(t)SHəns/
noun
an inner feeling or voice viewed as acting as a guide to the rightness or wrongness of one's behavior.

con·scious
ˈkän(t)SHəs/
adjective
aware of and responding to one's surroundings; awake.
synonyms: aware, awake, alert, responsive, sentient, compos mentis
"the patient was conscious"
having knowledge of something; aware.
"we are conscious of the extent of the problem"
synonyms: aware, mindful, sensible; More
painfully aware of; sensitive to.
"he was very conscious of his appearance"

I said what I meant. I know yall Hillary supporters be hearing similar things and think that makes yall same. It is unconventional, but intentional.

*edit

and we've been over this. I'm not sitting this election out. I don't know where I will cast my vote. I was part of a coalition which is twisting in the wind right now, honestly. But we will reorganize and get on the same page after the convention.

All I do know is I am not voting for Trump or Clinton. Just because I don't vote for Hillary doesn't count as a vote for Trump. Just because I'm not voting for Trump doesn't count as a vote for Hillary. I am voting my conscious, my AWARENESS. I am for universal health care, and aggressive and definitive economic, educational, and environmental policy. That she can't commit to that this late in the game isn't a failure of mine. Talk to your candidate.

In the meantime, myself and many other people in this country will probably vote with a candidate who best represents us, as I am sure you are doing in your support of her. I am not falling for this "deportation vs MASS deportation = deportation is better" mentality. And the fact that the swelling of voters who were motivated to participate in this and other cycles are looking elsewhere isn't a failure of ours. Talk to your party.

Hillary has all of her party's support, is running against a man with zero political experience, and has the cosign of the sitting President. If she manages to mess that up it is not our fault. It is her campaign to do as she sees fit. But there are other options, and they will never be viable unless we support them. There will always be fear on the other side (Dubya/Palin/Romney) but that hasn't moved the country in the direction that is needed. If that stuff doesn't matter then why even have debates and primaries? Too much went down and was revealed in this primary and you can't unring that bell.

You said you were going with her, and she said conscience, not conscious.

And note, as your helpful definitions show: conscience is a noun, conscious is an adjective. You don't have a conscious. Nobody does. There is no such thing.

It's not a big deal, but it makes you look like a fucking idiot.

She is more committed than you, Bernie, or anyone else in the world right now to these issues, because she is the candidate of the only progressive political party in the country.

There was no "swelling of voters." Democratic primary turnout was down this cycle, not up. Furthermore, they aren't "looking elsewhere." Sanders supporters are supporting Hillary this cycle at essentially the same rates that supporters of losing primary candidates normally support the eventual winner. You're just being more childish than the average Bernie Bro.

They will never be viable, period. It's not some illuminati cabal that has left us with a two-party system. It's just a mathematical consequence of the rules as defined in the constitution.

Cool. You've convinced me. Still not voting for her. My conscience is not mulling between whether or not I am voting for her. I consciously am voting my conscience. I am not with her. Better?

Surprising, but if you say so...

It really is one or the other, and your protest vote will never change the fact that it's a two party system.

If you really think these two choices are equal, then both your conscience and your consciousness need an upgrade.

One party that I used to work for does exactly what you are talking about, and that is the Working Families Party. What they do is endorse candidates who are already running, and have gotten a space on the ballot.

So essentially had they endorsed Hillary then on the New York ballot there would be Hillary listed as the Democratic candidate and also as the Working Families candidate. The reason why this is effective is because it could also still prevent Trump and get Hillary the vote, but it would also recognize that the people who voted adhere to these principles, so it is a vote within a vote. It matters, especially heading into midterms, because it shows that yes I voted for you for President, however you had better do something about these progressive issues.

That doesn't exist here, so the other way for us to leverage is to put those votes in another party which reflects our ideas. I don't think Hillary is going to lose, though I think she can. At this point I don't think she loses to Trump and I don't fear Trump because I saw the voter suppression that happened in the Democratic Primary. I don't think she will lose. But the threat of Trump isn't about her losing. It's about the optics of her barely winning. She will have the electoral college because of the things you said, BUT the difference is if there are millions of votes cast for Stein or Johnson, then that is an indictment on her candidacy, and are poor optics leading into the midterms. If she instead gets a lot of people to be afraid of Trump enough to cast their vote for HER, then now it looks like a landslide and she has the will of the people. She is probably going to win regardless, but it would look better if we willing got her in and not that she won by the skin of her teeth.

Ultimately though, when my conscience comes into play, are what is lost. Bernie supporters are not sore losers, or if we are it's not because we didn't get our way. It is because we got THIS close to doing the right thing as a country. THIS close to universal health care, which should be the default. A bevy of other issues. And instead WE (as a party) chose to say fuck those ideals. THAT is what leaves the bad taste in our mouths, especially when with each day that passes we get further and further away. We KNOW we can do it as a country, but we have CHOSEN not to. And THAT is disheartening. Shit is disgusting. I would rather vote Green, and let Hillary win, but give progressives the legitimacy to keep advocating for these positions because 1. they MATTER and 2. Hillary is not going to anything about it.

A vote is power. It is currency. It is THE currency. We have to put it where we are represented, or else we are complicit. That is politics 101.

A joke about Ted Cruz's non-endorsement. He told people to vote their conscience instead of telling them to vote for Trump. Her campaign just pointed out that that implicitly means supporting her.

Trump's electorate is fired up and ready to vote. Clinton has her base - but the Dems need a big-tent electorate to come out to the polls in November - and it's yet to be seen if that can be accomplished.

Trump's fraudulence in co-opting the Sanders Populist message seems to be taking hold among misinformed and gullible voters - and that should be concerning to the Dems - who may lose a larger segment of working-class/lower-income voters than they imagined.

I really think Kaine is a huge mistake as a VP pick. Clinton must excite the electorate that isn't already in her pocket - and this pick does nothing to court the left-wing of the party, nor does it do much to sway Independents who do not want politics as usual in Washington.

I'd say Clinton is the favorite - but not by a lot. 55-45 odds at present in her favor.

The numbers are what are troubling.

So about 22 million Republicans voted for Trump, Cruz, and Kasich. That is not going to be a unified base though, but still pretty healthy.

Democrats had about 28 million people vote between Hillary and Bernie, so that is a STRONG base. Until you blow it up by making her the nominee. Bernie got about 13 million of those people, and you will not lose a fraction of those supporters with Hillary as the nominee, which is the risk you take.

Him as the nominee and you hold onto those 28 million vote + Independents who didn't get to participate + an appeal to pull support from outside the party.

Instead you are splitting that electorate, alienating your base, pushing away Independents, and pushing a candidate the 58% of the country thought should have been indicted, 30% from her own party, and against DONALD TRUMP, who at worst can reject all of her attacks by saying "you were saying that when you were accepting my checks".

Bernie was the safer bet from a logical standpoint, but we are ignoring our head and our gut, and going with our heart. We'll see what happens.

Democratic Socialist bruh. And it is simple to get across. Those same "Blue Lives" and Military the right loves? They are paid via democraric socialism. Bernie has done more for Veterans, etc....too much to type.

Bottom line nobody thinks Hillary and Trump are the same. They are and have been saying that it is not an improvement. If you had cancer and wantef treatment and your doctor said "nah, but hey could worse!" that is not progress or an improvement. If one is for deportation and the other is for MASS deportation then it is not an improvement, that is ignoring a section of your country's pain so that you don't have to worry about losing your privileges. This election people are deciding to go all the way. Simple as that.

Again...I'm not talking about titles...I'm talking history...Bernie's history more precisely....Dude was always going to be portrayed as a Left wing, Socialist caricature....I mean his past comments about Russia during the '80s would have been ripe for a nasty campaign ad alone....

Trust....Democrats made the right decision....

There is no "let's see"...This ain't a baseball game, dog...Trump is easily the most unqualified and dangerous Presidential candidate in the history of this country....If that's not reason enough to vote for a candidate that can actually beat him then it says more about your own extreme ideology than anything else...

Debbie Wasserman-Schulz is the fucking worst.

http://usuncut.com/politics/dnc-email-leak-exposes-bias/

The worst fears of Bernie Sanders’ supporters have been officially confirmed in the latest batch of DNC emails released by WikiLeaks.

On Friday, the whistleblowing website leaked approximately 20,000 emails that were allegedly sent by top Democratic National Committee staffers like chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz (who referred to a top Bernie Sanders aide as a “damn liar“) national press secretary Mark Paustenbach, and communications director Luis Miranda. This data dump is “Part One” of a series from WikiLeaks they are calling the “Hillary Leaks,” and Guccifer 2.0 has taken credit for the hack behind this first set of emails from the DNC.

The emails show an unprecedented level of collusion between top party officials and political reporters at establishment newspapers, as well as DNC staffers obviously favoring Hillary Clinton while devising ways to attack Bernie Sanders.

In one email with the subject line “Bernie narrative,” Paustenbach ponders a way to attack the Sanders campaign as “never having their act together” with Miranda, suggesting they plant a narrative in the media that the Vermont senator’s presidential campaign “was a mess.”

Despite Wasserman Schultz repeatedly denied allegations that she was favoring Hillary Clinton in the primary, but WikiLeaks’ emails expose her treating the Sanders campaign as an adversary.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz and her staff contemplate ways to smear Sanders’ position on Israel/Palestine affairs with her communications team in one exchange, with Wasserman Schultz saying “The Israel stuff is disturbing” in reference to Sanders’ platform committee appointees attempting to include language denouncing the occupation of Palestinian territory in the party platform. The email also shows that “HFA” (Hillary for America) fronted the idea of Israel/Palestine as “an ideal issue to marginalize Bernie on,” suggesting that DNC staffers were in communication with the Clinton campaign and cooperating on attack strategies against Sen. Sanders.

Party officials even sunk so low as to devise how to use Bernie’s religious views against him, according to emails analyzed Sam Biddle of The Intercept. In an email with the subject line of “No Shit,” DNC CFO Brad Marshall appears to strategize on how to alienate Sanders from Southern Baptist voters:

It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.

Marshall followed up shortly after to add, “It’s these Jesus thing.” DNC CEO Amy Dacey replied with “AMEN.” The email was also send to Miranda and Paustenbach.

Marshall emailed the Intercept after publication of their story to insist he was “probably” talking about a surrogate and not Sanders in this email, and the Intercept has followed up to ask what surrogate he could have meant. Marshall has yet to respond to that request as of this writing.

Article 5, Section 4 of the charter and bylaws of the Democratic Party requires the DNC chair to remain impartial during the primary process, a rule that Schultz seems to have violated in these emails:

In the conduct and management of the affairs and procedures of the Democratic National Committee, particularly as they apply to the preparation and conduct of the Presidential nomination process, the Chairperson shall exercise impartiality and evenhandedness as between the Presidential candidates and campaigns. The Chairperson shall be responsible for ensuring that the national officers and staff of the Democratic National Committee maintain impartiality and evenhandedness during the Democratic Party Presidential nominating process.

Neither Schultz nor any other DNC staffers besides Marshall have commented on the leaks as of this writing. The Democratic National Convention begins this Monday in Philadelphia. US Uncut will provide coverage of the convention throughout the week

to me. minds have been made... nothings going to change

and after you watch a man promise to do everything he can to destroy the very ideals that make america, america
and are still waffling about.... shit i dont even know what they are waffling about
i read both stein's and johnson's platforms and there are disturbing things in both-
(i dont know if i fear the libertarian's promise to ban most federal agencies, or the green party's promotion of alternative medicine, wafty science and vaccines policy more)

then i dont know how much more anyone can tell you if they are trying to change your mind

Luckily people that think like me are so "fringe" it will have no bearing on the election.

So she should win. But she could lose.

Nigga, stop....

The only times I've been wrong about Trump is the New Hampshire primary and Michigan...

That's it....

That Republican primary was a clown car show, dog....The GOP base hates middle of the road/moderate/establishment Republicans....It's not at all a shock that Trump won the GOP primary....That's what 8 years of demonizing the government gets u....

And let's be real: WHO IN THE HELL PICKED TRUMP EARLY ON?

No one...

Just wait until the debates. In front of the whole country with everything at stake there's no fuckin way Trump can hang with Hillary. People can shit on Hillary all they want but the fact that she is still here in this position is amazing. I'm in no way an advocate for her but she is much more qualified than Trump to hold that office and once you start asking REAL questions I think that Trump will finally look rightfully ridiculous in this race.

That a Trump prediction is equivalent to a Trump endorsement. Which is so simple-minded and obtuse that it's really not worth responding to.

Like Trump can be stopped by PREDICTING that he won't win.

No. Trump can be stopped by analyzing why he has been successful and then forcing him out of his strengths and into his weakness. This is extremely difficult though....and Hillary's qualities kinda play into his strengths. But myself and others have been saying that for months. That speaking this truth is somehow an endorsement of Trump or indication that we want to Trump to win 'so we can be right' is a desperate and childish counter-argument. Trump won't be stopped by burying heads in sand.

Noone here wants to Trump to win. Except for maybe Djamberee but who cares about him.

Trump is historically bad, she should win.

But they are virtually tied, and she could lose.

I don't think anybody disputes that in a vacuum of Hillary vs Trump.

i think his ceiling in any state nationwide is an abysmal 6%.
dude will obviously lose hispanics
(he is somehow polling higher among them than blacks tho).
he aint winning the gay vote or the youth vote.
women are running away from repubs in droves.
he has tepid support from his own party.
koch bros have declared war on him
and threatened not to back any downticket repubs who support him
(and they also have a lot of pull with coal town working class white types...which trump absolutely needs).
i mean...the only meaningful speeches from the rnc were his own kids lol.

because the electorate is more diverse in 2016
he would need to beat clinton by like 22% among whites
(romney beat obama by 17% in 2012
and trump is polling around 10% less among college educated whites).

i dont see him getting it done
unless dem turnout is just putrid
and all the bernie independents/dems just switch up.
(wish they coulda held these wikileaks til after the election lol)

so basically poorly educated white males
would need to hoo ride like jeff hostetler.

anything is possible
especially with the lack of excitement around hillary.
but i think that rnc speech just scared a lot of ppl over to her side.

hispanics are registering in record numbers
so you know they bout their business.
black ppl could def get caught lackin
but obama aint get started yet.
hopefully he can energize us.

both sides have work to do on turning out their base. hillary has to get out democrats, but she's not running against a static opponent.

obviously there are enough white people to win this election. there are more white people than any other kind of voter, still, and fluctuations in white turnout still mean a lot. white people turned out in 2004 at a higher rate than either of the last two presidential elections. if they'd turned out in 2000 numbers, kerry would have won.

every vote matters.

It sounds boring because its a fact.....

>both sides have work to do on turning out their base. hillary
>has to get out democrats, but she's not running against a
>static opponent.

Right...I never said Clinton didn't have to work for her base votes...

>obviously there are enough white people to win this election.
>there are more white people than any other kind of voter,
>still, and fluctuations in white turnout still mean a lot.
>white people turned out in 2004 at a higher rate than either
>of the last two presidential elections. if they'd turned out
>in 2000 numbers, kerry would have won.

I'm not talking about white people. I'm talking about white males, the strongest voting block for Trump....U notice, I didn't post my comments with a side-eye diss...I didn't call your post "boring".....

The only worry Hillary Clinton has is can she turn on that Obama coalition...And given that Trump has managed to alienate much of that base AND turn off some Republican voters I say that there is more than a good chance that she will beat him down....

But no...white men are only a worry if Clinton was losing working class and older white men AND college educated white men....

At the moment Clinton is peeling away the college educated as well as white women....

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

nigga you are not no goddamned 538

if niggas dont come out in obama numbers
and if whites comes out for trump like they did in the primaries
HRC will have a fucking problem

what the latino vote look like in Ohio?
what the latino vote look like in Pennsy?
what the latino vote look like in Virginia?

niggas not coming out to vote for HRC like they did for Obama
is there the same "electricity" in the air when Obama was running in 08?
FUCK nah!
Niggas gonna stay home this go round
You keep talking bout "college educated" whites
but have you forgot there are more dirt poor non-educated whites than "college educated"?
THOSE are the ones that are going to rise up and come out to vote AGAINST hrc
not necessarily FOR trump
they just HATE the clintons that much

it's not as clear cut as you making it

what dirt/bombshells they gonna bring up on Trump in the next few months?
Everybody already knows he's a piece of shit
HRC is the one up there trying to play Saint Theresa
getting caught up in all kinds of stuff

I'd say this shit is only separated by two points right now
nobody trusts HRC on national secuirty
and with each of these police shootings and terrorists killings
it makes Trump that much more appealing

If Blacks had a record turnout for Obama
Let's see what whites going to do against HRC

U r a lame....That about it....

And u said Benghazi? Nigga...Stop it...

What have I said that's bullshit???

That Clinton has to work hard to get the Obama coalition?

That Trump has the white male vote on lock?

That although Trump has said white male vote on lock that will not be enough to win an an election (As I stated previously, getting that white male vote is HUGE if we were in the '80s or '90s....)?

But now we r living in an era where Obama kicked ass by only winning 35 percent of the white male vote. Mondale got crushed by Reagan with that same figure....At the moment Trump is struggling to gain more than just the white male vote...He is losing college educated whites and white women.....

None of what I'm saying is groundbreaking or fucking exciting...It can be found just by hitting Google...

Bottom line...If Clinton doesn't get Blacks, Browns, women and college educated whites to turn out then Trump will be in the White House...The rub? Trump is pissing off ALL of the demographics I just named...

This is not about exposing Trump or pulling off some big October surprise. The Dems were never banking on that for the win...In any Presidential election, any Republican candidate running for President starts off in the 40% plus range in the general given how divided this country has become.... It's all about the current diversity of the Electoral college. Clinton can def. lose if she doesn't get that turnout...Luckily Trump is helping her out....

That's how Trump got this far.
Old heads like you using old ass Intel & Strategies

How did HRC almost get murked by Bernie?
Because her old ass was using old tactics.

As in any election this will be decided by five states.
That's it.

I wonder who NY will go for?

Trump got this far because he ran in a Republican shit show of a primary. Trump represents the GOP base's revenge on the establishment....Good thing primaries r much different than general elections...

but that demographic did get fired up and mobilize against a 2nd obama term
with a lot more (unified) party support
(and koch bro fundraising).
as much as they love trump
you still need a lot of resources to bring them out.

i read an article a few months ago
either on politico or fivethirtyeight
that basically said the way the country is shaped now
trump would need 70% of the overall white male vote.
never been done before.
not even in landslide reagan and bush sr victories.

OH and PA could easily swing his way...

the Tim Kaine nod will likely help her keep VA but black vote in OH and PA is not that big a deal at all since blue collar vote is splitting regardless of race

Trump been the same for years, i can count on him for that.

Hilary, on the other hand, is just a liar. never can tell which way she is gonna go.

At the end of the day, neither one of them have my issues of concern in the forefront of their campaigns, so im screwed either way.

I like Trump way better than Hilary as a business person, not president.

I'm pretty sure his campaign people didn't give dude this talking point. Gonna be a few crazy ass months from here on out....

A snapshot of his thoughts on FOX News' Roger Ailes being forced out over a string of sexual harassment allegations from Politico:

"Trump goes on to say that Ailes has helped the women who are now “complaining.”
"And when they write books that are fairly recently released, and they say wonderful things about him,” he said. “And now all of a sudden they’re saying these horrible things about him. It’s very sad. Because he’s a very good person. I’ve always found him to be just a very, very good person.”

U can't make this shit up.....He also addresses the rumors that Ailes may become his head campaign manager....I can't...
