It took a while for the Keenan and the last class to get as good as they are. Its not Samberg, Keenan, Hader etc were good. Hader has even said it himself you arent really good till a bunch of years into being on the show.
Its gonna be really bad when Keenan leaves this year. Right now the strongest thing they have is Weekend Update. Those 2 have been killing it there. The guys need to start finding their reoccurring characters soon. Obviously easier said than done.

are all super funny.
It's the writing that I think is super weak. I feel like all the fake news shows got a real writing brain drain for SNL (they haven't had a funny political skit in years).

Ye, Kendrick and Chance are all better performers even tho Drake is on top. I hope he finds what works best for him and starts really putting together better performances. His last 2 SNL appearance performances have been really bad. Hype was much better but was more 2010 Drake performance wise than anything else.
But they make you shave off facial hair for the show, its hard to come up with skits already, its even harder to to make all skits funny where your character has a beard lol
