50 YEAR OLD BRONX MAN ACCUSES AFRIKA BAMBAATAA OF CHILD MOLESTATION WHEN HE WAS A TEEN

In his latest book, Impulse, Urges and Fantasies, former New York State Democratic Committee Member and author Ronald Savage claims he was molested by Hip Hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa (who he says he disguised with a fake name) as a teenager.
While speaking with Shot97 host STAR, Savage provides a meticulous account of how the Universal Zulu Nation founder allegedly molested him by recounting details included in his book.
He claims the molestation began when he was around 13 or 14 years old. “I was a kid when this happened,” the 50-year-old author said. “I wanted to be down with the in-crowd, not really understanding that what Bambaataa was doing to me was molesting me. I knew it was wrong. I had these feelings that were like, ‘Yuck.'”
Savage claims he stayed quiet out of fear of what the Universal Zulu Nation would do to his family and because he was “ashamed.”
According to his official site, Savage is currently a judicial delegate in the 12th Judicial District in the Bronx. The single father of three is also a US Press Association journalist and author.
The Source has reached out to multiple parties to further investigate this story and we are awaiting a response at this time.

it's not cool, what are you gonna do? Its a grown man, you just gonna say 'No' and expect him to stop? It ain't gonna happen. You either scrapping and will probably lose because he's a grown man. Also keep in mind that the confusion, etc.. is all a part of the grooming process. By the time you figure out whats happening it's too late.
Its just kind of easy to look at it as adults and be like, "WTF" not realizing that we were making fucked up decisions on the basics, like haircuts, when we were 13.

If he were on a witness stand, it’s a fair- if uncomfortable- question for AB’s defense attorney, most of whom I’m guessing would avoid that tact because it really has littleto do with whether or not what he said happened actually happened.

Even in that improbable and gross scenario, it’s still wrong. Still illegal. Still predatory. AB is still the predator and if you’re feeling VERY generous, a predator who may not have been hiding in the bushes at the moment but damn sure took the opportunity.

I'm saying that I can't see a 14 year old kid not understanding that it was wrong.
You're also saying that it's wrong but it's like you're arguing... something else.
I'm saying that it's wrong, and I don't believe that the guy who wrote it didn't understand that it was wrong when it happened. I believe he knew full well that it was wrong but went with it for whatever reason.

I didn't bring the sexes into this, illEskoBar221 did by somehow making this about a 14 year old girl instead of the topic at hand.
The point that all of you are missing is that Ronald Savage makes the claim that "... not really understanding that what Bambaataa was doing to me was molesting me..."
He acknowledges that it was wrong, but I doubt he didn't know this was molestation... And just on wordplay he's technically right; it's not molestation, it's rape.

Though Bambaataa was never mentioned by name in the statement, the message is very clear, with the Zulu Nation stating that anyone who has been accused of and/or assisted in covering up the accusations have resigned on their own or have been dismissed.

Date: 6th May 2016 Universal Zulu Nation Official Statement: International and Regional US UZN Leaders, Universal Zulu Nation The Universal Zulu Nation wishes to announce that it is currently under new leadership by the International and Regional U.S. Zulu Leaders. This will involve a significant restructure and will feature an in-depth re-assessment of how the organization will function to better serve our communities. As part of this restructure ALL accused parties and those accused of covering up the current allegations of child molestation have been removed and have stepped down from their current positions.
Over the coming months there will be significant changes to the organization in terms of roles, structure and establishing the policies any organization of our size should have in place. There shall also be a new move to work towards providing support for victims of abuse, rape and molestation and working more closely on other social issues existing in communities such as drug addiction, alcoholism and mental health.
We are saddened by current events. Not only because of the trial by social media of which we have been subjected to as an organization, but because until now the previous leaders and founders have been ineffective at being able to respond in a way which our members and associates deserve of us. Especially when our good work spreading the Zulu message has empowered communities worldwide. We would like to offer our sincere apologies for this.
As an organization we are in a very difficult position because we are being asked to condemn one of our founders based on testimony through social media alone. We cannot do this. We also cannot dismiss the comments of parties asserting they have been harmed. We have a duty to search for truth. We also need to be mindful that if these allegations are true that victims discussing this in a public forum has not come easily. We the Universal Zulu Nation wish to extend great sympathy to anyone affected by such issues. We know that respect and compassion need to be at the forefront of how we deal with such topics in the future, this has been a lesson in learning for us.
The public is asking for justice and we would welcome constructive suggestions on how that could be effectuated properly. At the moment it is unclear on how best to proceed, we would like to know how the claimants would like to take the matters further towards some form of resolution where the truth can be established. We can not legally speak on behalf of the parties in question in regard to the current allegations. Individuals must speak up for themselves & advice from their legal teams should be sought.

That might be the best wording I have ever seen for a public statement involving a situation like this. And it doesn't come off like a formulaic, cookie-cutter PR statement. Whoever wrote this really took the time to hit the right notes.
They don't address the initial statement made when these accusations first surfaced. That shit was absolutely disgusting and made me sick to my stomach. Perhaps they could have added an apology for or acknowledgement of that....but I'd guess whoever wrote it is amongst the individuals that they've since parted ways with.
But taken on it's own...you really can't do better than this.
