"can you forget how to ride a bike/real friends?"

my son bought one for me. I can't remember the last time I rode one.
the kids and I are about to be out,
I'm debating if I want a helmet lol

do kids play anymore? I don't know about y'all but I grew up during a time when all the kids on the street played, rode bikes, took long walks and ate penny candy together. I'm throwing a kids party Saturday and I'm going through hoops to get parents to let their kid(s) come over. Like, I get it but, damn is this what it's come too...

whar happen to be home before the lights come on...

I was at a conference and my hotel was like a 40 minute walk from the conference site. Luckily the city had one of those bike rental systems (this was in Warsaw, but I think they are basically the same as the ones in NYC).

This was after about 20 years never biking.

And yeah, it came right back. Felt like old times. It really is like riding a bicycle.

But yeah, get a helmet. You're old -- no reason to worry about looking cool.

I don't plan to ride in the street. Is it cool to ride on the sidewalk? It always bothered me to see bikers riding in the car lane and stopping at traffic lights.

to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk as an adult since the sidewalk is meant for walking, bicycles take up a decent amount of space and there's potential to hit or even worse run over folks.

If you do ride in the streets, navigate those friendly secondary and tertiary side streets.

Like, I see kids playing but are they building? Idk, things seem different...

Daughter has a couple of them. Her best friend moved away, although its a couple of miles from where we are now they have a friendship I don't ever really see stopping.

They met when my daughter was like 2 years old and have stayed best friends since. Now either one spends the night at the others or they face time each other to death. They also are non stop playing outside with other kids. This is her BEST friend. Their are still others where my daughter plays with non stop and still contacts them when she can't see them on the regular. It's a pretty cool thing to witness lasting relationships that involve your child in their friends. Like a lil cool ass gang lol.

I have to drag her in the house. All the neighborhood kids do. You always hear about kids not going outdoors anymore, I think it depends on the child though. Mine loves her games and tablets, but that's only if she can't get outside.

As for the bike you never forget how to ride. You may start off rough at first but you get back into the groove of it really quick. And man Eff that helmet. I'ma go just like I did as a kid when we were rough as shit and go helmetless while doing wheelies. Live dangerous!
