"let's talk about watches."

I've been getting into watches lately and wanna see what yall got.

How many do you own? Do you think watches are as stylish as before. Do you even like watches? Do you like a man/lady with a nice timepiece? What you currently got or want?

This is my latest purchase.

the person that bought it keeps trying to buy me another watch because i wear this one too often (his words, not mine)

it's a WATCH

a practical item that i feel i dont need more than one of

i like nice watches but i can't see myself starting a collection

and couple of old Timexes that don't work (1970's era battery powered)
Also a Samsung Gear S2...

I've been wearing the Gear S2 daily since I got it in December.... I feel bad for my other watches

I really like watches....but the tide of smart watches has me worried that my tastes will become more utilitarian as time and technology progresses....

nice collection.

I haven't considered getting a smart watch, just because i'm waiting for the technology to get better.

Why do you think it's taken up your everyday wear?

I bicycle to work, so I can use the fitness features of it .....
I have a big ass phone and it's nice to be able to just leave it in my pocket instead of pulling it out whenever I get a notification.....
Being able to see appointments, weather, etc.. at a glance is cool too.

Plus the novelty of it hasn't worn off yet.....

a Bell & Ross BR02 and a Panerai PAM005, a Bulova that my wife gave me, and a few other watches that don't get worn much at all.

IMO a nice watch is like non-bling jewelry that men can wear. And I really love having a mechanial, self-winding watch.

They are definitely big watches, but they are understated so I think they work just as good on small wrists as they do on large wrists. I know there are even many women who wear 44mm pams and they look great. They aren't all blingy like Breitling or some other watches can be.

I only take it off when I shower. I love it because I don't have to worry about it getting damaged ever, and it's solar powered so I never have to change batteries. And it's digital. Analog watches are nicer looking, but I've only ever had digital watches my whole life so Im anal need to see the actual minute and sometimes seconds. "About 7:40" isn't good enough for me.

two Reactor Watches and now a Casio Illuminator I caught at a great price...it was normally $110. That's my daily watch since I stopped turning wrenches. Before that, I wore a shitty, Walmart watch at work cuz it got scuffed up and shit. I'm currently battling with myself over this Garmin Vivoactive GPS watch for cycling. I'll prolly cop. http://www.heartmonitors.com/products/garmin-vivoactive-gps-smartwatch?CAWELAID=120229730000000496&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=120229730000005278&cadevice=c&gclid=CKH6m5CrjssCFZcdgQodG88HUg

an old square-faced fossil

a Bulova
a di Tomaso (sp?)
a basic Guess joint
an a good ol' plastic Casio.

I like watches, but I don't get too tough into 'swiss vs japanese' movement and all that...cause I'm broke. But I like to look nice so I keep a variety of looks on deck to complement the garb.

The Sturhling was a gift...it came in a fancy box w/registration papers and all that, but I'm pretty sure the Bulova cost more and it was on sale......at JCPenney *shrug*

Currently I wear a rotation of 4 G-Shocks (white, yellow, army green and red). I have another 2 which need batteries, and 2 more that I gave to my son.

I'm intrigued by Invicta watches. I want a big heavy diver's watch, but don't want to pay what a serious diver's watch goes for.

I'm digging this, the Invicta Subaqua...

got my eyes on the prize for this one:

Nice I like them all.

The reason I bought the Seiko I just posted is because I wanted a black dress watch with blue hands to add a extra bit of of color. Next I'm thinking of looking for a brown dress watch with a red tint for a grey suit and red pocket square.

My everyday all day just for fun party and bullshit watch:

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/e6/3a/01/e63a01f4a1b6d95b89f6e50fe17e3b39.jpg

I bought it from J. Crew when they first started carrying them back in '08 or '09. I'm able to swap bands as frequently as I want since I have ten different colored ones. They seem to oly sell the Vintage Field Army watch with a white face now but I have the one with the black face. And coincidentally, I'm wearing the orange band (like the one in the photo) today.

My other is a Shinola Runwell Chronograph:

http://cdn2.jomashop.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/490x490/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/h/shinola-the-runwell-chronograph-white-dial-slver-stainless-steel-mens-watch-s0100062_1.jpg

I'm actually considering buying another Shinola because I like the simplicity of style as well as the quality in the one that I have as well as their brand. This is the one I've been thinking about.

https://percolate.com/cdn/library/image/51794873

Edit:
I've also been thinking, FOR YEARS, about copping myself a G-Shock, Just hadn't pulled the trigger for one reason or another. And I've been strongly considering copping this Mouguin & Picquard from J. Crew.

Both are pretty low key. The Citizen Ecodrive is my daily driver, as it's clean, never needs a battery, and goes with just about everything, dressed up or down:

The second is a Fossil automatic. The movement isn't great, as it tends to run fast after a few days use (or if I leave it in the watch winder for a week or so). But I like the look. One day I'll get one with a swiss made movement:
