...technically, Sesame Street was supposed to be aimed at inner city kids from lower class neighborhoods. They'd froth at the mouth over something like this nowadays.

well, a MINORITY (read: lower income, inner city) show heavily skewed towards a "Black is beautiful" type worldview

it wasn't till the bougie folks started complaining that they started toning all that down
