""How Superficial Women Miss Out On Great Guys!" (video swipe)"
Thu Feb-11-16 01:06 PM by -DJ R-Tistic-

http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh0aKZzfWQR82jAPbY

I know it's Valentine's Week, so everybody is in their feelings, but I've seen hella dudes post this silly ass video around on Facebook/Twitter today, just to confirm whatever BS they want to assume about dating (especially about dating Black women.)

I mean, it's Steve Harvey...I'm a fan of his for the most part, until it comes to dating and his advice. The women in the video don't even seem like the type I would meet or even ask on a date...hairstyles alone aren't my type. I'm sure it's some women who are this silly, but it's surely not the majority.

Don't get me wrong now, I had plenty of women, but a good number of dates where I didn't get that second date or phone calls stopped after it was over wound up just like this one.

I don't like how it looks. And in this video, it kinda sucks that these ladies act like the stereotype of what guys expect when talking to ladies with this type of hair. It's sooooo many natural ladies in L.A. nowadays, I can't even picture myself hollering at one with this look.

I've always said "she's cute, but that blonde shit gotta go". 99/2000 Beyonce when her hair was a dark brown was prolly the only time I was like "yeah, I'd holler in a heartbeat".

these particular girls have a lot going against them

thats hair color WITH that skin tone is a challenge to begin with
then they got that extra red lipstick on
plus their faces arent very cute

yeah.

beyonce has a cute face
and her skin tone isnt so off putting with blone hair

still dont like that fake long luxurious hair look regardless

Not always, but I can't think of a single woman I've come across with that look that didn't have a handful of personality traits to go with it. One of those traits is they definitely place a high value on appearances, and not just the appearance of potential relationships.

As far as Beyonce, there's also a huge difference in the makeup and her body, even the hair. The hair isn't near as bombastic and her makeup is generally less gaudy.

Plus, I mean, they're pretty chubby from the neck down. Beyonce is much more fit and better proportioned. To have that kind of flab and still be so oriented on the looks of their dates is kind of amusing.

Basically, Beyonce has that "look" but it's done correctly.
These two have that look but it's poorly executed and they do not possess the physical attributes to really pull it off, much less justify their emphasis on appearances in men.

is a personality type that goes with blonde hair, ESPECIALLY on a woman who's over 25+. I'll give a college girl a pass on it.

It's similar to most dudes who wear Gucci belts with their pants saggin so you can see the belt and their matching Gucci draws. Along with their five chains.

and it really only looks good on 10% of the women who try to rock it.

And they are definitely in the 90%

It's like they went for a "look" whether or not it looked good on them.

I can tell you that "Look" gets me A LOT more play from a wider range of men than my natural hair.

Now natural hair definitely will get looks but from a narrow and very specific type of man (of all races).

I think sometimes black girls have to go weave to cast a wider net of responses.

No offense.

Similar to how modern thugs dress like kid cudi(c)SPM, there's a big natural hair movement going on. Year's ago you could assume her place smells like sage but nowadays those women in the video could have easily had that same attitude rocking the frizzy fro and Ive seen dudes hollaring in kind.

Shit, one of my female friends was complaing about how the patented NYC creep holla dudes were on some, "YO, HEY NATURAl. HEY NATURAL" to her last week

Before even seeing any women comment about this side of it....I know for sure that they could have flipped it, making the ladies unattractive, and we would have "friend zoned" them the same exact way.

I think what makes it worse in this video is how they were asking questions about "how much do you make?" and "how many bedrooms" which is superficial as shit...while a guy on a date with unattractive ladies wouldn't ask any of that, mainly because we don't care. That might even show that some women will actually give ugly guys a chance if they make enough...but most of us wouldn't care if they made $40,000 or a million a year.

Unattractive ladies still have coochies, booties, tities, legs, mouths, etc. Men aren't 'freindzoning' most women unless said man is busy with other options.

Those women might not find themselves in relationships, but they are far from being in the friendzone.

If you in a spot with cameras on you & they trying to get your feelings for if you would seriously date that person, if you being honest you would probably say no. You wouldnt be as rude as they were, but it would still be no if your truly not attacted to them. That dont mean you wouldnt smash if they let you.

Just don't like that kinda look.

I'd have sex with her, of course, but that doesn't mean shit... I'd probably fuck a ridiculously high % of the women I come across if I could.

But I wouldn't date either of them.

Women facing that predicament need to understand that Fuckable != Dateable/Wifeable.

I hear you tho... I stopped messing with women that had a really low dateability to me in my mid-20s because I was TERRIFIED of knocking-up a woman that I really wasn't feeling (aside from sex).

Plus, I truly appreciate the non-sexual things that a dope woman brings to the table.

For me, "dateability" is based on things like her personality, how much she has my back, whether we are compatible when alone, etc.

By filtering out sexual attraction I'm choosing potential mates based on whether I actually like her, rather than whether I just want to fuck or not.

Edit: Not disagreeing with your assessment, btw. Just curious. I'm really picky when it comes to my S.O.

It's like a wide range to me, too. It's those who I'm like "man I better NEEEEEEEEEEEVER get her pregnant...but I'm still hittin" all the way to "if I accidentally got her pregnant, I'd smile and hope she keeps it"...and the middle, it's "I mean...she cool enough to be with, I would just hope she doesn't get pregnant though."

Lot of guys will still go for the "unattractive" chick if she has other qualities that he finds attractive. If they have good convo, see eye to eye on a lot of things, and have a good time together the chances are pretty high he'll still go for her.

It depends on what type of "unattractive" she is, for one, and if it still fits the mold of his type.

We've always discussed how men are more "superficial" than women when it comes to looks, and that we basically value looks more than career position and all else. I feel it's not a huge difference in how women are...it's women who only date guys with beards, or full hairlines, or six packs, or 6'5+, but we know that most of us men are driven off of physical attraction, especially up front.

'cause I got a few chicks under my belt that weren't remotely what I considered "attractive" facially but had solid relationships with. For full disclosure: One had a mammoth ass and legs to die for but a pair of saddest lookin titties I've ever seen, one was a 15 out of 10 from the chin down (DD titties with very little sag, small waist w/flat stomach, big ass with no dimples or anything and shapely legs PLUS she was only about 4'9" tall), and one had solid C cups with ZERO sag and a decent booty with nearly flawless legs. I vibed with all three on a pretty deep level.

Pretty much every dude I know has at least one chick in his past that wasn't very attractive that he was good and in love with.

I'll say that I'm more picky than the usual. But in general, yeah, I know a lot of guys who do go for "unattractive" women, but they'll still be attracted to them. My best friend has a type that's nearly opposite of mine in most cases...he's the type who still says shit like "she looked good for a dark skinned girl" or "she doesn't look dirty to be a natural chick," yet he'll get with a fat light skinned girl just because she's light with titties. But...he would never get with someone who he's not at all attracted to, which in his case would be a super skinny dark skinned girl with natural hair and an average/not-cute face.

For me, I'll say it's surely some girls I've been into who weren't dimes at all, but would only be seen as average to most guys. But the thing is, I was still attracted to them. If I'm not, then I won't have any desire to get with them or have any sexual interactions with them.

to the most people IRT dating

attraction

I don't see the issue here, TBH

they deliberately dumbed down dudes looks

= ol' girls weren't feeling them

+

I'm going to say the dudes weren't acting like themselves all the way 100 either

you can attract women with the swag they had on the show, even if you look like they did in the vid.

having the guys 'in on it' is a bias that contributed to the desired results = faiL

And that's no way to help their entitled ass mindset.

There are a number of ways you can respond to being asked how much money you make on a first date but none of them should involve attempting to engage the person in continued adult conversation.

i still blame hip-hop.

It may be stereotypical, but most of us associate a particular personality type with ladies who rock blonde hair

I've NEVER liked it. My aunt did it way back in '81 and I though it looked ridiculous even back then. My wife asked me the other day why I was looking at our 21 year old with a screwface when she got home and I told her:

"She went and put blond in her hair... shit looks stupid".

Ive dated good looking rich guys who were anything but. I guess from this video we learned women should value superficial shit like being attractive and having money, but should wait a few dates to decide anything in case the guy lies about his occupation and or shows up in a wig and special effects makeup?

It just reinforces the good guy = guy with superficial traits idea.

when he's telling them what type of woman he's looking for.
They go on to show the women saying he has a "great personality"
which led me to believe they knew he was a good guy despite not knowing
now much money he made, what he did for a living or how many bedrooms
were in his home.

As for their material possessions, I think the video is trying to
say that the women missed out on that because they didn't care about
the personality. I don't necessarily agree with the execution, but
there were some signals of what kind of men these were. We also have
to keep in mind that the entire date wasn't shown. They did say the
guys had great personalities a couple of times tho.

Yeah that's true. However, that's what the women said.
It's important to them, but it didn't matter due to what the men *didn't* have.

I'm definitely not saying the guys are less concerned about looks
than the women, at all. I'm also not one of the guys trying to demonize
these women for their choice. Actually, I'm defending them more than most.
My initial response to you was simply to say that there was a glimpse
into the personality of the guys (well, one of them at least), as it
was even confirmed by the women themselves. I do, however, have
alotta problems with the way this was executed and presented.
It seems set up to perpetuate misogyny, imo.

>They're saying what sounds good.

One could assume that, but I don't think the guy with the fake George
Jefferson cut came across fake in his response to the question...
seemed like an honest answer to me. Furthermore, his complete
disinterest after the fact, underscored that. The other guy, on the
other hand, looked like he was ready to get the party crackin after
he went and put on that suit lol.

As in, I don't understand why it's such a shock that she wanted
to know how much he makes. Of course I've been with a couple of
women who didn't care AT ALL, but those are rare types.
Status of some sort is always important to women even if it's just
social status. Get used to that.
Women will be attracted to you for how you look, what you have, status or
what you've accomplished (or may potentially accomplish).

You dumb down (or hide) any of these things, and you decrease your
chances of attracting them.

Bottom line is this:
Women want and need to be protected and to feel safe. If you have
what it takes to do that, your chances are exponentially increased.
If you're hiding things and not answering questions, there's a great
chance she won't feel safe. It's not rocket science.

he's with off personality alone. She knows who he is and that he
has money. I'm sure she likes the person he is as well, but that
alone wouldn't keep her. Or maybe he's naive enough to think that
that isn't the case. I think most of us know better though.

Take away ANY man's good looks, money, and status and the number of
women willing to give him a chance will dramatically decrease.

Personality lol. We aren't in grade school anymore.

I'm sure that's for some obvious reasons (on my BEST day I might get a 6.25 outta 10)....but also because I'm keen to interpersonal conversation shit.

If I can't get a chuckle out of you in conversation...if you ask specifics about my finances...and also if you have too much fake shit going on in either in personality or appearance...I'm tuning you the fuck out.

Anyway...as others have said...there may be good women buried beneath all that shit they have going on...but who has the desire to do THAT much digging?

part of it is the baiting-ness of it: these guys were purposely made up to look "less attractive" and put in front of two women who, stereo-typically (bc of their look), are going to be very, if not primarily interested in a mans look.
like someone else, said, switch the roles here, superficial looking guys on dates with artificially "less attractive" women, and most likely youre gonna see the same thing
also: the "this is why Black women cant get men" narrative. thats silly. many, many women (shit, people!) have difficulty finding a mate. i think a more accurate suggestion as to why Black women (maybe) have more difficulty attracting (specifically) Black men has more to do with long-standing systematic oppression (prisons, instilled self-hate in our culture, etc)
for everyone one of these caricatures of wayward Black culture, there are multiple examples of healthy loving relationships. but those dont get as many views*

*nor should they, theres not much exciting about watching a regular-ass relationship. i just think people forget (or dont wanna acknowledge) that Black folks have healthy relationships.

I'll give them that.

But I think folks in this post are missing the point. There is nothing wrong with having a standard of physical attraction. If the ladies held their line and maintain they still weren't interested in those dudes then they would have won.

What makes it hilarious is because they seemed to have caught the vapors with just very minor adjustments.

And yeah them blonde weaves and that caked up makeup had them looking crazy.

The guys 1)carried themselves differently, 2)dressed way better,
and 3)were open about what they did for a living.

All those make a huge difference. Especially #'s 1 and 3.

Fancy, like being expensive or time consuming. Dudes should have bounced within five minutes, but instead they were stuck there trying to make lemonade out of lemons.
