seasons 1 and 2 are hands down some of my favorite TV ever
3 was cool but cut short by Fox taking it out to pasture
4 had moments of greatness but it was full of puzzle pieces telling one story from everyone's perspective

ive tried so many times to try to get into the show because of this opinion.

and when I do watch it I think to myself "this is it? really?"

it was over hyped way too hard for folks who missed the opportunity to get in at the ground floor

I'm one of those people that draws a clear line between favorites and bests. Sometimes favorites and bests overlap (The Wire), but those favorites I'd like to think earn it, generally. Arrested Development didn't get a chance to earn it. As a result, I feel people out before I recommend it to them, and I never sell it as anything other than a layered, quality ensemble comedy.

while AD may not be the best/greatest sitcom of all-time it is one of my favorites.

I've watched that first episode about 4 times thinking "it's gonna click... everyone says this is amazing."

Then I get bored and put something else on.

One day I'll probably steam in here yelling about how amazing it is.

S3 had some moments but...

And then the last season they brought back to Netflix was...I don't know.

But my wife and I are CONSTANTLY quoting S1 and 2. I might have to go back and watch it again because of this post.

I was late to this show as well....now its one of my all time favorites.

the more you watch the show, the more you start to appreciate the on-going jokes that contiuously pop-up from past episodes and seasons, or the little visual details that appear....during the period that Tobias is a stand-in for Blue Man Group, you'll always see blue fingerprints around the house.

i pride myself on liking high brow white folk stuff too


something about it is missing to me idk

it's just a fast moving witty comedy about corporate crime, sibling rivalry and a dysfunctional wealthy family

But the kind of white folk I know who like the show are those whose taste I respect





I don't find the show unfunny. There are some hilarious parts for sure (THATS WHY YOU APWAYS LEAVE A NOTE)


But over all it just never kept my attention

all that Mr. F shit had me in tears everytime.
