I'mma wait til it's all over before a final proclamation but I can see already they fucked it up. It's pretty stupid trying to rewrite Clarke. I get it you gotta update it, but they basically used that as an excuse to turn it into shit. All they needed to do was change the first launch into space to interstellar travel and left everything else exactly as it was. I knew it was fucked as soon as the crack baby in the wheel chair was drawing the shuttles. Dude wasn't supposed to be born when they arrived. They weren't supposed to reveal themselves for 50 years so that it'd be a whole new genration born into the peace. Just changes the whole dynamic.
