Lol I opened up for them in Chicago a couple weeks back. Their show was crazy. Didnt know much from them outside of a few viral hits, but they put on a really entertaining show.
-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

They are leaning all the way into a parody. There's no way Slick Mahoney is the product of folks who are 100% serious. Crotch Rock That over the Street Fighter 2 music!? Sex Syrup!? C'mon now.
It has likely gone far better for them than they ever imagined so they're keeping it going and playing it straight. They know some folks actually dig the songs. They also know that folks consider them hilarious. So they're sure to cater to both points.
I flat out love what they're doing. And yes..the songs are usually better than they have any right to be considering the comedy. Go Grab my belt!? Bwahahahahaha!
I stumbled into that Cavities video long ago. That video put me in the fetal. I watched it for 30 minutes straight. I almost couldn't get past the first 30 seconds. It was just too wonderful and funny.
I ran around for days waving my arms and yelling about it with anyone who'd listen to get reactions, got disappointed by folks not being as into it as I was, and decided to casually enjoy it by myself. I haven't followed them much since the first album (THAT I BOUGHT) dropped. I know they'll sneak and make new songs and videos at least kinda regularly. And every time...I'm in on it. One day I'll roll up on a show. It has to be good time to see them commit to the absurdity in person.
I'm still surprised about how good-looking the girls are in the video. I almost expect it now.
They started as pure parody, but then starting making real jams. They are clearly still joking, but the songs are great. I actually bump their albums/compilations. It's too bad they don't get more internet love, they should be bigger than they are.
