... with her music. I think I'd still choose Celine anyway if I did have a connection.

Her version of "beauty and the beast" with Peabo Bryson was on point
and apparently she didn't know a lick of English when she recorded it.

"Because you loved me" and "Heart will go on" are pop classics.

I've heard versions of songs in French and actually preferred them to
the English counterparts. I think singing in multiple languages is a
selling point in this comparison.

That style of pop ballad doesn't move the meter for me. I might give Adele the nod for 19, but that is more based on Mark Ronson's producing. I was all ready to put Adele in the blue-eyed soul category, but then out came 21 with it's overblown pop ballads and I had to tap out.
