"What's the quintessential American suburb?"

In your mind, what town, village or borough most typifies the American suburb. This would exclude urban suburbs like Somerville, MA or Arlington, VA.

I also thought of Naperville, but it's almost become a little city of its own these days.

Beachwood (borderline streetcar, as is Shaker)
Mayfield Heights
Mayfield Village
Highland Heights (esp.)
Richmond Heights
Orange Village
Warrensville Heights (though it was more "Levittown" ish before white flight)
Maple Heights
Garfield Heights, etc.
I suppose you could say Solon as well, but Solon is the last stop in Cuyahoga County. I consider it an exurb.

and that's just the East

Every town on the West in Cuyahoga County when you leave Cleveland city limits qualifies as well. EXCEPT Lakewood.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

the western part of the USA.

You need to get out more. If you did you'd see that suburbs west of the Rockies tend to be fairly indistinguishable and most are built on a model that developed in SoCal between the 60s and 80s. I dunno which So Cal suburb though - one that developed with the development of freeways. But it includes lots of pristine green grass in fairly dry areas, illuminated street name signs, strip malls, and ubiquitous Spanish tile and stucco buildings. Look at the suburb development in the movie E.T. And the ones in Breaking Bad. Those are what I'm talking about.

fuck you.

Friendly, safe, pretty, clean, mostly two parent homes, free from noise or litter.

I like the idea of the suburbs. But I think it can get boring really fast. I contemplated movign to a black suburb in Maryland (Bowie, Upper Marloboro, Randallstown) but i just can't deal with the boredom.

Tracks and tracks of cookie cutter housing

Brand new triple a baseball stadium on the outskirts across the street from a cornfield

Nothing more American than baseball...

Very few Jews or Italians or anyone who would have an accent.

But a smattering of blacks bc of the base nearby

Lots of blonde haired blue eyed children, the people foreigners think of as all American.

Cali and east coats suburbs have too many Mexicans, Armenians Jews and the south is the south with their twangy accents, southern food and cowboy boots and they don't have white Christmases most of those places.

Its gotta be somewhere Midwestern. I'm sure lots of suburbs in kansas and the surrounding areas are interchangeable.

But it's not an east coast, southern or Cali city.
