"Is there such a thing as non-sexual romantic love?"

If so, give me some possible examples, please.

I overheard a woman talking on the phone say "it was romantic, but not sexual" and I didn't have any other context to go off of.

i still blame hip-hop.

but I've never experienced it.

My first thought was asexuals got that covered. But it sounds like you're talking about someone who isn't asexual feeling that.

I'm still certain there is, as I can differentiate between romantic feelings and sexual feelings, but I've never experienced romantic interest for someone and not sexual interest.

its when you just want to be around the person and talk to them and touch them and go places with them and laugh with them and have them look at you with love but no real desire for intercourse...holding hands, meaningful hugs and kissing (not deep tongue kissing) yes. beyond that, no.

only experienced once and it was really confusing lol

She said she thought, at one point a few years earlier, that she might be a lesbian because she didn't want to get sexual with basically any dude (she wasn't a virgin and she wasn't attracted to women, though.)

She didn't identify as asexual.

I have a hunch alot of those cases are just extreme hypergamy.

then again, that was fiction.
also, marvin gaye was crazy.

in real life, no.

romantic love has a sexual component.

it is worth noting, however,
that some friendships are more intense than others.

the intimacy that is shared between exceptionally close friends does feel
like a bond powerful enough to warrant word besides platonic love.

but agape is more approriate.

friends, lovers, or nothing.
there is no other bond, really.

Maybe it was a beautiful setup. He was super kind, catering, all that...but she just didn't see any sexual attraction to him.

I really liked her, but I also really like sex so...

She ended up finding a guy on an a-sexual support group forum.

I can have sex without romantic love, but I can't have romantic love without sex. That's called being just friends with a woman.

I loved this person passionately but there was no sexual chemistry.

It was like we were at the 20-year mark in a marriage.

its in the splitting hair territory admittedly
but there are as many types of loves as there are people

even if you acknowledge loving physically
there is emotionally and intellectually
the last two are where this comes into play

there is friendship
but then there is an intensity of attraction esp if you are attracted to smart intellectually and emotionally intelligent people's a different level

like equating a crush to lust or love
yeah but not exactly

Not crushes but legit love. That opinion has changed over time and I can even see myself enjoying that type of relationship with someone.

I don't ever see myself seeking it out tho. It'd have to evolve into that kind of arrangement.
