their cover of the Beatles "I wanna hold your hand" was big back in the day too...

They were solid, but I don't know much more than what I just said about their catalog.

You got the Ohio Players, the Isleys, Bootsy's Rubber Band (plus Michael Hampton and Junie Morrison with the P Funk set), Zapp and The O'Jays. Then I think Lakeside, the Dazz Band, I guess Slave had some big records. So I guess they kinda head the second tier. Personally I like them a little better than the O'Jays also, both good bands.

The tier thing I mean whatever, how many are we putting in a tier? To me Slave had about as many hits as Lakeside and the Dazz Band, that seemed like a pretty tidy grouping. O'Jays you can knock into that group or out, whatever, I don't have a personal preference. I think we can agree that the Ohio Players, the Isleys, Zapp and the major contributions to the P Funk set were like the Mount Rushmore here, no?

They might not have lived up to their potential on wax
But their live show was one of the best in Ohio or anywhere else...
