which was born out of the relative silence on women who are victims of police/vigilanty violence... and then the song only mentions like 3 women.

Initially I was also rubbed wrong because immediately... like minutes after the songs release, the media was calling it a "powerful new protest song" and saying shit like "black lives matter has a new theme song." I didn't like that because I think a movement has to adopt a song, it can't be cast upon them. But that's my own issue.

I do appreciate artists who understand their platform to speak to the issues though and this is a great way to do that.

I like the idea of more artists jumping on and saying more women's names.

The Eephus tour is funny cuz it's only like 5 dates.
But I've seen Janelle before and she kills it live.
And I saw some videos of them performing this song and it looked dope.

Other artists contributing could be dope musically speaking, but
I really get a visceral feeling from the simple act of demanding
acknowledgment of these victims names.

I know her and Jay have done some behind the scenes work like posting bail for BLM recently

but this;

http://hypetrak.com/2015/04/beyonce-breaks-silence-about-baltimore-riots-on-instagram/

doesn't seem like it takes alot of effort, compared to cutting a song and a video as in the OP

it would be dope to see some of these acts with huge celebrity speak on the issues.
