I love how if you look at each picture long enough, you can feel the story behind them. So much history behind each person. Importantly, everyone has that "papa don't take no shit" look to them.

but to me, "we were kings and queens in africa," sounds more like, "SEE! we have kings and queens just like they do. We have a culture just like they do!"
there's also the fact that realistically most of us have no royal blood and its possible that our kings and queens would have oppressed us.
it all strikes me as blind pride.
plus imo the very concept of a monarchy is backwards. this was solidified when i watched that documentary on the king of swaziland, "without the king." I know there are and were good kings and queens, but the idea of someone being above others just because of their bloodline is an idea that could die and humanity would be all the better for it imo.
btw, i appreciate this post just as i would appreciate any post about african culture. i dont mean to come off like i dont like the content of this post. ultimately, it is a part of our culture.

just my theory, but i think he's holding onto the color images for when the project is done. it's an ongoing thing. I'm hoping he drops it as a book because my coffee table needs that.
