both are suburbs, so they are what they are. if you're willing to sacrifice for a longer commute, and have some real bucks to spend, of course oakland is the best place to live in the area. but thats another post
walnut creek: larger, more businesses, more white (but not totally white like some would have you believe), more expensive, closer to oakland by a touch, farther from san ramon by a touch
dublin: more black folks, newer mall, real imax, less expensive, smaller/fewer businesses, farther from oakland by a touch, closer to san ramon by a touch
basically walnut creek is slightly more of a "city" and likely has the better school district and more cultural resources, but is certainly more expensive, and is known for being sort of white and uppity, although there are other folks there in real life. both are on a bart line, which as i mentioned i think is important (which is also why san ramon itself is out). __
