it would strike me as odd if a man told me that he wanted to be celibate. Especially if it comes out of nowhere. If he had this ideal for years, it's one thing...but for one day he goes "i'm celibate." I will be like "who gave you what?" that's so odd.
I'd be open to staying. sex is not the totality of the relationship but trust I'd need a good reason and we'd have to discuss what that means for us and for me (the party who is not choosing this lifestyle).

To just up and decide to become celibate w/o discussing the decision with the s.o. The purpose of being in a committed relationship is to eventually marry, unless both people decide that marriage isn't an option. However, if someone out of the blue decides that she wants to abstain from sex and not consult with me, then the relationship will end. I am not in the business of being in a committed platonic relationship. It is either that or I seek intimacy(physical) from others(since people wanna make decisions without the consideration of the other partner).
