next to "i like it" the most common phrase i hear is: "I couldn't pull it off". Generally, dudes aren't accustomed to wearing a lot of color, but it's just an issue of comfort and familiarity.
the clothes themselves aren't particularly outlandish, imo. They just aren't solid navy/black/gray. it doesn't look cartoonish when done tastefully and simply.

but i hear you. someone has to get out there first and make it bit more mainstream. i think the market as a whole will head in this direction soon.

i wouldnt say outlandish, id say bold is a more appropriate description. i would definitely wear that Mobolaji Houndstooth. *fire emoji*
its the more bold ones that i couldn't see myself in..like the zakat or lim sport coats.
but all the models are stuntin tho. they look good in those clothes.

for us, we have to figure out how bold we can be, while actually expecting to sell these things. so on the one hand, you definitely have to go with your gut and execute your vision, but you also have to make choices that are at least a little in tune with the marketplace.

..i agree with your response, in that some people just aren't confident/imaginative enough to see themselves in your wares. they simply lack the vision to incorporate what you bring to market into their current rotation.
however, i think you can help change all that by giving them a few more looks to choose from (without watering down your targeted look). perhaps mix of your wares with a few contemporary pieces found in most wardrobes?

I went to 4 yrs of design school so I enjoy discussing design, hearing people's thoughts on design and am always happy to explain the reason for any design decision I make.
