"Poll question: Fellas: Would you date a single mom with a child less than a year old?"

There's an ongoing debate on social media about Future and Ciara and apparently Future made some comments about Russell Wilson pushing his son in a stroller...:
http://www.centrictv.com/entertainment/music/articles/2015/07/20/future-on-ciara-s-relationship-i-m-not-here-for-the-publicity-stunts.html

Personally I couldn't seriously date a female with a child that young because she either:

a. still probably has strong feelings for the BD

or

b. if she doesn't and it was just some random dude she let buss raw in her then that's an even worse look IMO...

Poll result (29 votes)
where dey at? (1 votes)Vote
no (4 votes)Vote
it depends (6 votes)Vote
I don't date single moms (18 votes)Vote

But 9x out of 10, dad is still in the picture when the child is that young so I wouldn't think anything serious was to come from the relationship.

audacity to be upset because someone decided step up and take the role you've abandoned.

Muhphuckas kills me in the black community.

She free to date but she can't have no one around yo child ass muhphuckas. But you won't get yo child so that she can be out and about dating, always too busy to be a parent ass. So now she s'pose to just work, come home, be mom and that's life.

Phuck that. I'll date a single momma with no problem.

Muhphuckas can't stand when THEY break up with someone and then the other person moves on to a much safer and stable relationship. I'm team #CICI on this one. She ain't said sh*t about ol' boy in recent months, she found peace and solace in a new relationship and it's tearing Future's (trapped in the past)ass up. I guess what they say is true--If you want revenge on someone just keep living---that's all you have to do.

but i was just wondering why the question was gender specific. "because i'm a man..." you're going to leave out 50% of replies from the opposite gender bc you're a man...? lol

after my last situation, I'm not too keen on men with kids period...9 months or 9 years old. i love kids but the other parent can complicate things, especially if the other parent is female and has the man by the nuts. and if they're the kind of parent i'd want for my child, they probably won't have enough time for me.

ok that was just my baggage talking but my answer is no, lol.

Anatomy and breastfeeding alone make it a whole different thing! And the woman almost always has full custody at this point.

I'm just saying its a turnoff to me when its clear that a father is out living his life and the mother is the one bogged down with a baby. I'm not dating that dude. the type of dude i'd want would be up in the mama's face trying to be there as much as possible. but that type of dude does not have time for me so there we go.

so there's less of the child 'getting in the way' of dating.

whereas with a woman who most likely has primary custody
there's a lot more to consider

that there's a child.

Different dynamics here.
Physical, mental, time constraints, responsibilities that are very gender specific come into play.

frame of reference....

Your frame of reference is indeed valid....not knocking it.

But my personal frame of reference is that of my nephew's mom actively keeping my brother away from his child from the day he was born and doing everything she could to KEEP him out of their lives simply because of a grudge SHE held.

So yeah...two frames of reference coloring our opinions on the hypothetical question Kwesi posed....

I'd venture that a man that was ACTIVELY and PURPOSEFULLY avoiding interacting with their child that's less than a year old.....likely wouldn't even tell you or anyone they're trying to date that they even HAD a child though...

if a woman is keeping a man from his child, i can't say that suddenly makes him datable. if he's not torn up about not being able to see his child, he's probably not the guy for me. and if he is torn up about it, it will probably affect our relationship.

and its not just about my experiences; my opinion is based on the strong feelings i have about family and children. i think the most important decision we make for our children is who we choose as their mother or father and if you're in a situation like this, you've failed your child in this regard. if you're not taking the steps to correct that mistake, then we clearly don't have the same values.

That's prime time. The kid would never know new guy isn't the dad. She could use the extra financial help and help with the baby. White ppl do it all the time. Any decent mom should be looking.

Depends on what you mean by date but you certainly shouldn't be getting serious and doing things that the dad is supposed to do. I don't think the guy is doing the right thing that's dating Ciara and she is wrong too.

Me and my boy were seniors in highshool. He had this girl he was seeing and she had a pregnant friend. So we double dated, but I couldn't look at her that way though she was fine.
But needless to say he and that other girl talked for a couple months and were through while me and the pregnant girl became good friends and I'm the godfather of her son who's in college. But we did have one summer in the late 90s where we were having casual sex with each other cuz neither of us were seeing anybody. lol

But, it would be rather offensive. I can't say that all of them are a certain way, but I can say that some of them are on some serious bullshit!

I guess it just depends on the person and circumstances regarding her single parenthood.
