I was hugely skeptical of smartwatches in general, and I only got this because it was hugely discounted (and apparently still is).
But I'm absolutely loving it. Best tech purchase I've made in a very long time. The thing is, you have to think of it as a watch with extra features, not a tiny smartphone. The night after I got it, I was annoyed by the tiny number of apps, and how generally useless they all were.
But after I got over that, I had a watch that gives weather status and a 24hr forecast right on the dial; displays texts, emails, and other phone notifications; directly controls my audio apps; displays turn by turn navigation info (along with buzzing my wrist to remind me about the freeway exit). It's all stuff that I could do just as well by pulling my phone out of my pocket, but that would take two seconds more, and more to the point: the watch is less distracting. If I'm working on something, and I have to pull out my phone to check an email, I get out of the rhythm of what I was doing. This isn't nearly as much of a problem if I'm just glancing at my watch face.
The market, I understand, has generally been a disappointment for everyone (even Apple), but I think if the manufacturers can keep them cheap, and transition to marketing them as watches instead of as revolutionary gadgets, then they'll take off.
