For what it's worth, Atlanta is good at many things but not great at anything.
Originally from Gary, IN, I've lived in the ATL for all of my teen and adult life. I been all around the country, and wherever I've been, people complain about their city for various reasons.
My wife and I almost moved to Minneapolis several years ago. I went there in July and absolutely fell in love with it. The move fell through, but we ended up visiting again in the winter...fuck that...I've never been so cold in my entire life!
I love San Francisco, but anyone I know from there complains about the cost of living.
We may make a move to FL in a few years, and as much as I love Tampa, I'm sure I will find tons to complain about.

At first I lived about 1 mile from the capitol near Turner field, then I lived in College Park, then Union City. Lots of good people, but I was tired of Atlanta. Moved 40 miles east to the Newton County/Walton County line almost 6 years ago. Love it. No more traffic, peace and quiet yet I can hop on i-20 and get downtown in about 30 min or so. I rarely leave this area now unless I have to do something at the office in Buckhead. But every time I go back to the city, I get annoyed and can't wait to get back to the country.

Everything and more I wanted to accomplish when I moved here 8 years ago, I've done. Now in my mid-thirties, I feel like I've kind of aged out...being too old to "turn up" and get caught up in the model/photog/rapper/athlete scene...but also too jaded to firmly plant myself in the HBCU/Talented Tenth/Sunday Brunch/Wheredoyougotochurch crowd. Plus, the traffic and having to drive every damn where is slowly killing me. I feel like for the next phase of my life (marriage, kids, furthering my career) I'd need to be somewhere else.
