The purpose of the Straight Black Pride Movement (SBPM) is to create a platform for International Black unity that is broad enough to attract the masses of sane Black people who still believe in:

1. The love between man and woman
2. Married Black men and women building strong, healthy, Black families
3. Black decency, dignity, class, morality, self-respect, and culture
4. Patronizing Black-owned and operated businesses
5. Defending Black communities and other Black interests.

We also believe we have a responsibility to remain loyal to our Race and to repair the damage to the Black Family.

The official launching will take place the weekend of Saturday August 22nd thru Sunday, August 23rd in New York City. On Saturday, we will have a Black Family Fun Day in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. We are encouraging the Black Family to wear your Straight Black Pride shirts (which can be purchased on that day if you do not own one). Please bring your grills, lawn chairs, tents, etc. . . as this is a casual Black family gathering. You will also have the opportunity to join in family games and activities throughout the park. This day is a FREE event!

On Sunday, we will have our formal affair at the National Black Theatre in Harlem, NY. We are asking the Black Family to dress in your finest Afrikan attire. We will unveil the platform for Straight Black Pride as well new products. We will have short presentations from around the world regarding our movement. Lastly, we will have food and entertainment available. This day is $20 for adults, $5 for those 5-17, and FREE for children 4 and under. Vending opportunities are available within our Afrikan Marketplace.

So, long before the gay ish, that was always came to mind when I heard "pride". The whole distinction of making it "straight" is just unnecessary. I mean, you can be gay and be for all that. It's just bullshit homophobia. Like at a time when Black folks are under attack and unity is so needed, why emphasize being divisive?
