height, etc.

mate, men with status sometimes do want a woman with status.

Don't want to mention names, but a female poster here has talked about that recently.

Even a male poster here has mentioned he was pleased about his potential mate's family status.

So that is a "keeping up with the Jones's" thing men who have a family with status seem to get wrapped up in.

I find it rather intrusive to inquire about someone's salary, regardless of gender. If being asked a question by a dude caused you to become disinterested in him, then I would understand, especially if you just met him.

"guys" don't do this

i can see maybe one tacky person
doing this once
for some bizarre unusual reason
to purposely be rude

but multiple people?
how does that even come up in regular conversation?

unless you are talking to an accountant
or filling out a form together that requires your income
i'm having a hard time picturing this

and i didn't ask for it, he volunteered the info. he threw out a
range from his best to worst year, i think that he was trying to
gauge where i was in that range. he started asking personal financial
questions like, 'what are you saving for? family...kids?'

i was shocked that he even brought it up, i tip toed around
anything dealing with finances because didn't feel the 'relationship'
was on that sort of level.

And how did you respond?

That's information that a boo doesn't need to know until we are talking about building a life together (aka marriage is in the picture).

Plus there are more tactful ways to find out early on. Such as Glassdoor lol.

'hey, what's wrong with that?!' he's like, 'oh no, nothings wrong
with that'. so, i incidentally told him but never really confirmed
anything...lol
