Hmm, I guess that fits then. So does that mean you can be born asexual, or that you can change to feeling this way later in life? Or is orientation a conscious choice? This is probably a whole different discussion.

They may not talk about them. There is a stigma to women who bring around a dif guy to every gathering or sleep around. I never mention anyone to friends or family unless it's serious. So I can go long stretches without mentioning anyone.

It's a moot point now because she moved back home last year, but at the time, I think she would have liked that. But she was mature enough to realize that dating someone sexual (long-term) is not going to be enjoyable to at least one of the people in the relationship.

And at the risk of the streets watchin', it has been quite the head-scratcher for the whole crew.
They, literally, have NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER in 15+ years mentioned a paramour or even a date of any kind. No one has ever known them to even express interest or a crush.
The first thought, of course, was that they were gay and wasn't out to us/them/whomever. But then we thought there are two people in our core crew who are gay so we think that if they were, they'd know that we don't give a shit and come out. But nothing.
So we've settled on asexual because we really can't think of anything else.

There are a few people I've known for years and they have never mentioned the opposite sex...or even the same sex for that matter.
For example, I have a co-worker who I have worked closely with for maybe eight years now, and I have never heard her hint about being in a relationship. I've never even heard her refer to a relationship in the past.
Her lifestyle is even more confusing. She a mid-40ish, heavyset white woman, with a Betty Page haircut and tats. She's into the whole nerdy scene...sci-fi and cosplay. She lives with her sister and has a side gig writing romance novels for gay men.
I have no idea what bag she's in, although I half expect to see her turn up in an AdWhizzz photo shoot one day.

I suspect a lot of it is top-of-the-food-chain women who are just super hypergamous and therefore aren't satisfied with hardly any of the men they meet.
WOrth revisiting because remember the OKplayer who went on and on about how she is never having kids and never had any interest? Her instagram now does is nothing of pictures of her and her kid.

interesting assumptions. How come some y'all haven't ask your friend directly. They may not even realize what they are? And being asexual doesn't mean don't want companionship or don't love. as someone said there are spectrums.
