"Ladies, growing out your eyebrows?? Is threading really the way?"
So needless to say I have been murking my eyebrows going to the hood threading spot.
I think it's time for me to pay a little more than $6 lol.
Anyway, I'm attempting to grow them out, I feel so ugly right now. I'm not even sure if it's going to grow in the areas I need them to. But when I just can't take it anymore I was thinking of doing waxing instead of threading?
What are the ladies of Okp doing? We waxing, threading, tweezing, or using the old school razor?
Any NYC ladies have a solid eyebrow lady whose not out here giving chicks pencil thin eyebrows or brick shaped brows?
I booked an appointment with this lady I saw on Instagram because her work was beautiful but she wanted $90 just for a brow "shaping". Girl Bye!
The most I would pay is $35/$40 and that's expensive to me. I just love having nice brows, I fill them in but I'd like to not have to, or look crazy when I don't.

and had professionals compliment me, ask me who was doing mine. threading is too painful for me and them licking the string kinda grosses me out.
i was doing a thick(er) heavy brow but, it's just too much. i think a thinner line and lighter color brow makes my eyes pop and a thicker one looks too makeupy.

my cousin who is a hair stylist does my eyebrows the best with a straight razor. there is no equal.
i can clean them up myself in between appointments with tweezers but i'm still not good at trimming the hair that stays.
second best for me is threading. there's a threading station at jersey gardens mall that is pretty good.
i've never had a good eyebrow wax. always a bad experience. the first time i broke out all on my forehead. another time they looked so jacked up. i did find this place that specializes in waxing and it was okay but she didn't get that arch like my cousin does.
i really need to find a #2 spot bc it's not always convenient to get to my cousin's salon.

I've been threading for the last 4 years consistently. I have gone through phases where they were thicker but seems like I have no "tail" anymore on them. I know I have been going to the wrong places.
15. "Me neither. They probably over threaded them" In response to Reply # 13
I would only go once every 6-8 weeks, I think that's what helped them get fuller. I always made sure to tell the person doing it that they didn't have to get every hair, especially at the tail where my hair comes in really irratic and sparse. Some folks can't get a straight line there and they remove everything that falls outside of the desired shape, leaving no hair. You can't do that if its sparse unless you want to fill them in with pencil every day.
but i don't go very often. maybe once every couple of months. i pluck at home to clean up the strays. i'm luck that my eye brows are pretty thin tho so it doesn't require too much maintenance.

I would stay away from all of that for a min though just to let them grow in, but if you have hairs that you know you're going to remove either way just go ahead and get those waxed or threaded. They should know what you mean if you tell then that you're growing them back.
You'll more than likely get a better shape by getting them threaded, but they will grow back faster. Honestly it depends on who you go to because I've had some bad threading jobs. They say eyebrows take like a month and a half to grow back, but it took mines at least 4 months to get it to like 85%-90% (I have super thick eyebrows though). Personally I prefer to just grow them back to their natural state and start fresh. I don't think you have to spend more to get any of this though. It's moreso about finding somebody that's just really good at doing eyebrows. I was going to the same lady here for 10+ yrs...I just recently found 2 new spots.
Also they say that that jamaican black castor oil will make your eyebrows grow back thicker but idk how true that is
