"What's the most you're willing to spend on headphones?"
I was at B&H Photo and I was really tempted to cop the new Bose Quietcomfort 25. It's priced at $300 and it's supposedly the best noise cancelling headphones on the market. But I thought to myself, my headphones would then cost more than my music collection. I can't think of 1 release from 2015 that I like.
I want cheaper headphones but they're all the foam earbud types and I REALLY HATE those. They're so uncomfortable. I hate trying to squeeze them in my ear canal. Seems dangerous too.

for DJ'ing I'll go around $70 For recording I'll go up to $150 but it really ain't necessary to go that high... but that's the ceiling.

I used to fancy myself an audiophile, I have two pairs of Grados & a pair of Audio Technica ATHM50's. But these JVC's are cheap, comfortable, convenient, and sound pretty good. I guess I'm not really an audiophile, at least not anymore. I think everyone should buy a pair, just cause. You might not really be an audiophile. You might not be need to spend outrageous amounts of money for "good" sound.

funny thing, I had a pair of those myself. You're right, for the money they're not all that bad. I'd still have mine if they hadn't fallen apart. They're not great, and my Audio Technicas sound better to me, but they're decent and won't break your wallet.
