I can't link on this comp, but go on Youtube and look up Fania Salsa. Just play whatever the first video is that comes up. The look up Hector Lavoe. Then Willie Colon. Then Roberto Roena.

less formal whereas salsa is pretty rigid on timing, etc.

I'm Colombian so yes I'm gonna rep MY shit first and foremost

Everybody recommending Fania, that's cool and all but very predictable
try Africando if you wanna salsa songs sung in Wolof
If you want that 90's Spanish Harlem/Bronx salsa vibe
Marc Anthony's first 3 salsa albums are certified hood classics (Otra Nota, Todo A Su Tiempo and Contra La Corriente)
La India - Dicen Que Soy
Rey Ruiz
Victor Manuelle
Frankie Ruiz
Try searching for RMM Music from the 90s, specifically Perfecta Combinacion. That was the all-star salsa compilation of its time.
I would also recommend listening to RMM's Tropical Tribute to the Beatles, super dope album.

here for dis.

knows this one in NYC. I've heard this probably the MOST in the BX so it's to your request. it's just a classic. The lyrics are cold too.
