This time, a veteran officer was so scared of an unarmed Black, she shot him through her window. Still rolled up.
Like, that's a thing I've never heard of another person doing. Even in Jurassic Park. Even in The Walking Dead. Nobody is so scared inside their car that they shoot through the glass, potentially injuring and deafening themselves.
Nonetheless, that's what she did. Because he danced in the street and then walked toward her car. And we're supposed to accept her abject terror as valid reason to kill and allow her to continue putting her bravery between citizens and crime daily.

You're in a vehicle, with an arsenal from non lethal to lethal weapons. You have training. You have a radio. You have doors that lock from inside.
The first thing you do when you see a person approaching in an erratic manner isn't usually "open fire", because that's not an option any of us have in that instance.
So I would expect a peace officer to have a little more wherewithal than that.

I read the article (granted, I missed the race) and I saw a news reenactment of the scene. I understand her gettin shook up. But nobody did anything to cause gunfire. He didn't brandish a weapon or assault anybody. He was behaving erratically and got killed because somebody in the mix with a gun got uncomfortable.
But having a gun should make you more comfortable. The rest of us depend on that comfort.
The things I see cops doing on a daily are actions I would attribute to Quentin Tarrantino villains. But even then, I would say "Dude's version of Ed Gein was over the top. He never kicked a woman to death in the crotch and abdomen."
And I would be right. Ed Gein didn't do that. Officer Mary O'Callaghan did that.
