i have an irrational hatred of mouth-breating...and mouth-breathers.
the guy who made my sandwich at lunch has one of those big ol' soup-cooling bottom lips and he held his mouth open...every time he looked up at me while making my sandwich i just wanted to punch him. by the time he finished making my sandwich i just wanted to leave it there. and eating it...it's like i could taste my disdain for him in the food.
this is completely ridiculous of me - this thing i have against mouth-breathers. especially when it's coupled w/those soup-coolers (sidenote: can these ppl not tell when their fucking mouth is hanging open??? wtf? why can't they just HOLD THEIR GODDAMNED LIPS TOGETHER??? especially when preparing my food...). i'm not sure if it's racist or 'racial' - i doubt it b/c i've had this 'hate' for non-blacks who mouth breathe and i've had it for blacks who didn't have those soup-cooling lips. it's definitely something ugly and i should work on it.
but...UGH. i don't want to eat this fucking sandwich now.

If the instructor observes MB over a certain time period, they have to refer the child for speech pathology services first because they can be misdiagnosed with ADHD/ADD because mouth breathing affects the amount of oxygen to the brain which may contribute to misbehavior and academic performance.
Its actually pretty fascinating and helped me be more sympathetic to adult mouth breathers (outside of allergy sufferers) because SpEd has come a long way.

It's not healthy to breath from the mouth. The little hairs in your nose act as filters. The air going straight to the lungs from the mouth has little to no filters.

I got the concept, but not why people would use it as an insult.
I've been taking a course on liquidations and other kinds of insolvency practice, and the guy who loves to sit up the front of the class is a mouth breather.
It's very loud, especially if he sits next to you (I've learned to sit in the second row now) and goes into hyper drive if he falls asleep (yes, during the lecture). At one point the lecturer stopped and started laughing because it sounded ridiculous. Poor guy woke up not really understanding what just happened.
The impression I get is that he has health issues.

and he be eatin them ready made meals from fresh and easy every night that be different foods like meatloaf and potatoes, or spaghetti but somehow they all smell the same and he be heatin em up too hot, so he be slurpin em because they burn his mouth and if we watchin somethin on tv, he holds his breath until the ppl stop talkin as if he breathing so loud he can't hear the people talkin on tv and then he breathe out all loud and sometimes he wants me to watch some dumb video on his phone while he watch me to see if i laugh and i last about 10 secs because he be breathing all in my face his breathing is literally a third roomate.
we been livin together too long.
