"W. Outpolls Obama...AKA Being black ain't easy... (SWIPE)"

So I'm getting my morning started....Watching a little CNN...And then I get hit with a puzzling ass headline: GEORGE W. BUSH VIEWED MORE FAVORABLY THAN PRESIDENT OBAMA.....

Okay, so I'm enough of a political junkie to know the deal. I understand that historically Presidents' poll numbers almost always take a dive into their second term. I understand that out of sight out of mind usually = an improving positive view of a politician out of office...

Hell, Richard Nixon, the crook of all crooks, started to receive some revisionist history towards the end of his life...

But W.? The dude that took us into the worst foreign policy debacle in American history? The guy that damn near destroyed America's economically standing and took the country and Wall Street into a devastating market crash, losing millions and millions of jobs in the process....

That guy is viewed better than the black guy that lead America back from economic brink, saved the auto industry, ect, ect...The kicker I saw in another poll? A little over 50 percent said they felt good about the economy, the highest number its been in years....But that same group (I think 45 or 47 percent) said they disapprove of Obama's handling of the economy...

I guess I shouldn't be surprised....Not even the presidency is immune to that LAST HIRED, FIRST FIRED history of this country....

God bless America!

George W. Bush outpolls Barack Obama

By Nick Gass

6/3/15 6:57 AM EDT

Updated 6/3/15 8:41 AM EDT

Americans now have a more favorable view of former President George W. Bush than they do of President Barack Obama.

It is the first time in more than a decade that Americans have expressed a favorable view of Bush, at least according to a new CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday.

Bush is seen in a favorable light by 52 percent of those surveyed, compared with 43 percent who still view the 43rd president unfavorably. Americans are split on Obama, with 49 percent responding favorably and unfavorably.

The last time Bush polled in positive territory was in early April 2005, close to three months into his second term.

Among living presidents, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton are viewed the most favorably, with 64 percent responding favorably to both. Just 30 percent see the elder Bush negatively, and 33 percent see Clinton in an unfavorable light.

When the same question was asked in 2014, the 43rd president polled at 46 percent favorability, continuing his steady increase in the public’s esteem since leaving office, when just 33 percent responded that way in February 2009.

The poll was conducted May 29-31 by telephone, surveying 1,025 Americans, with an overall margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percentage points.

At one point in his second term W's poll numbers (at the same point Obama is now), were in the low, low 40's below Obeezy....Just a few months later W was in the '30s....Historically his poll numbers were ranked among the worst of all presidents....

So how can someone who was in the very low 40's and then rock bottom '30s poll wise get a boost in such a dramatic way? I'm sure people are spooked by what's happening in the Middle East and Isis got folks shitting their pants...

But come on...lol

Actually, I got it wrong...W.'s approval poll numbers AT THE EXACT SAME YEAR AND TIME as we are now with Obama were in the fucking low 30s.....THIRTIES....lol...In fact his disapproval numbers were in the 60's.....In June, Bush's approvals were at 32 percent....way lower than Obama's (who has been hovering in the high-mid 40's to hitting 50 percent a month or so back....)

I'm going to say we don't need to wait 6-7 years to see the bullshit....

so Bush has LOWER approval numbers when he was at the same point in his 2nd term that Obama is now, right? or am i reading that wrong

AND, again, you have NO clue how Obama will be viewed in 6-7 years from now

therefore your entire thesis that the current discrepancy is based on race has absolutely no facts to back it up

of course we all know certain segments of this country resent the fuck out of the president being Black...but what you're posting here does not support anything, even that known truth

or again, maybe i'm completely missing something...

for the vast majority of Americans

shit, most of us were probably making more in adjusted dollars when Dubs was sitting in the Oval than we are now...

edit: shit, look at this TPP thing...B is doing his BEST to keep the entire deal completely secret and under wraps...Congressman can go to a designated area to read it but can not copy or take any portion of the law with them...

maybe informed people know this stuff and realize that this dude is making some very dangerous moves on behalf of his puppet masters.

And this is where we part Philly Phil...Are wages down? Hell yeah....Are more people getting part-time work? Sure...Are the rich getting VASTLY richer? Yes....

But compared to what was going on during the sec. W's second term?

Man, people would be building statues in honor of the president RIGHT NOW if he or she had the complexion for protection....I don't think we have an appreciation for just how dire shit was economically in W's second term....

I like the sneak diss on intelligence...Cute....

But I'm talking about economics here....Not widespread NSA spying (something I'm completely against...) or other issues I have with Obama's administration (dude not going hard in the paint for folks below the middle class)...

During Bush's Presidency we were bleeding jobs....In fact, in 2008 we lost 2.6 million jobs...In the last three months of W's run we lost 1.7 million...We had to bail out Wall Street....And the auto industry was on its death bed....

Now I'm not saying we are on easy street today....Quite the opposite...We doing better, but there's MUCH room for improvement....But Americans are buying a shit load of cars again, the type of marker point economist use to judge the state of the country....

Again, I'm going to go out on limb and say that if a Republican had the same economic record Obama has right now, they would be moonwalking in the End Zone......

Let's take baby steps on this, Phillip.....

1. W. had vastly lower approval numbers than Obama AT THE SAME POINT (u were the one that asked for those numbers, right?)....

2. So I gave the numbers to u to make that point that a President who at this very point had a low 30 percent rating vs. Obama's mid 40 numbers.

3. The following year W. would hit historic lows in the low 20's...

So the question: How does a former President who during the last two years of his second term have some of the lowest polling numbers history poll better than the guy who led the country back from an economic brink....?

Common sense wise I can say people are scared of Isis and the shit show in the Middle East....But it just so happens that the guy polling better than the guy who is now in office STARTED THE SHIT SHOW IN THE MIDDLE EAST....

So what else can I come up with than to say: something else is going on here....

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

Folks talking about Obama is ruining the country and he's the worst president ever have embarrassingly short memories.

The end of Bush's presidency gave us almost daily headlines about failing banks, sky-high unemployment, a housing crisis and a terribly mismanaged & unpopular war.

Obama isn't perfect but comparing the state of the US right now to what it was 8 years ago shouldn't even be done without going back and reading at least a month's worth of newspapers from the same point in Bush's presidency.

in fact, many would say his failures were a big thing that swept Obama into office

the basic logic in murph's entire argument is faulty, that's all there is to it...

look, we all agree that swaths of white people dislike Obama mainly because he's Black our divergence occurs at just how representative those crackers are of a much larger group of people

in 6 or 7 years you'll also have a good portion of old school crackers dead & younger white folks who are involved with more cultures aging & becoming more involved in societal decisions

that said yes racism will be alive & well

People blame Obama for Isis and "Benghazi" and "Death Panels" and whatever. They blame Bush for the war in Iraq and cratering the economy. The good news for Bush is they're forgetting about those things by now. The bad news for Bush is that they'll eventually forget about Benghazi and death panels too.

And at that point, quasi-news outlets will run breathless stories about how Barack Obama is finally outpolling President Hillary Clinton.

Mostly because he's been portrayed as being too stupid to seriously hate (largely by white people). His paintings and general folksiness have added to that.

Plus, alot of kids under a certain age don't remember his disastrous presidency firsthand.

but more than likely they birth more haters.

the guy took out Bin Laden and people still said "he didn't fire the bullet so why should he get credit"

that type of hate is impressive. they spin any positive into a negative.

people give Putin props because they hate Obama.
