Is it me, or has this place become WAY more permissive of substance use? Ok folk, who does what? Do you think you have a problem? Any thoughts of slowing down anytime soon. Do you feel your drug use actually HELPS you?
I'll go first: I don't fuck w/heroin or coke (usually) but other than that I'm pretty drug positive. I actually am considering slowing down on the alcohol - the days after are TERRIBLE. Other than that, I'm good. Lastly, no I don't really think it hurts me, there is something interesting about sitting around w/a bunch or go getters, (jobs, degrees, titles, etc) AND doing drugs.
I NEVER in a million years imagine that THESE ppl were drug users. God I was so naive....

not sure what happened, but I'm totally fine taking four or five hits off a bowl and calling it good for several hours. I used to smoke two full bowls at a time, minimum, every two hours or so. a quarter used to last a week, now it can stretch to two months at times.
probably part of it is drinking a lot more, I do need to cut back but I'm just really enjoying it right now. in public, in private, just having a good time drinking and playing video games (I basically only played NBA games for a solid four year stretch) rather than my old hobby of smoking weed and listening to music.
over the winter I fucked with coke pretty heavy but I don't have a connect and broke up with the girl I was dating that did.
I tripped LSD on my birthday last September but it had gotten diluted by the atmosphere or something so I was just really ecstatic and goofy and full of energy (I actually took the four doses the night before and ended up staying up for about 28 hours), I haven't had a full blown psychedelic experience in probably half a decade at this point.

I've noticed that recovery time is longer than it used to be. So, now, I drink occasionally. I don't really chief, but I do bake edibles. Party drugs (never had an interest in heroine and blow is boring to me. Everything else is fair game) are reserved for special occasions, like b-day, holiday weekends and the like. It's all about the vibe, now. If it feels like a good time, I'm in. If it feels like there's gonna be way too much, then I'll bow out.

My breakdown is somethin like dis:
Came into the recreation game around 18/19 fuckin wit Brews, likka, herb. By early/mid 20's it was evident that I couldn't hold hard likka so I cut that out.
Den it was strictly Brews & herb, ...now mid 30's, Brews make me more nauseous than usual, its like my body is talkin' to me, developing a slight aversion to hops(granted, nausea is inevitable with alcohol as a whole, this shit is still strange). Accordingly, now I'm primarily herbals but erry now & then, I'll crack a tall one to blend wit my joint(32oz and a couple hits off the J is the SWEET SPOT!).
Hope I get over this encroaching beer-aversion tho 'cus I wanna cop some brewing equipment and start brewin my own shit.

I drink A LOT. I'm a slammable dude who drinks dude twice my size under tables, well before 30 hit. now I chill, cause I done burnt hella bridges. But nowadays I like my beers and whiskey, almost nightly. fam and society tries to shame me, but nah, drink and die.
done MAD coke, shroomz MULTIPLE times, acid a couple times, molly / x, oxy, mixed some with others, etc fucked on each (except LSD)
really I have done the sniff coke off a broads nipples and pussy shit
I loved weed from 17-21, but I've probably smoked 10x since. i really hate how paranoid and lethargic weed makes me.

all i know is white people love to give out free coke and i didn't take advantage of that in the first half of my 20's cause depression.
as someone who loves art and the way weed makes art (and food and sex and other drugs) better (better is the wrong term, it changes my perception in a way that makes art even more pleasurable) BUT also can't shake the fact that weed makes me lazier/less social, I got a love/hate relationship with mary for sure

I got off the oxycodone in December and then quit booze in January. I've been on and off drugs my entire life and have accompanied that with a very steady alcoholism. So it's not my first time getting off a drug....but it's my first time getting completely sober since I was 12 years old.
Started smoking and using LSD before I even started puberty. Probly around 1000 hits of acid before I was 20. Replaced that with coke and MDMA. Replaced that Opiates. Then kept switching from coke to opiates around every 6 months for the next 18 years. Beer and wine were a constant during that whole time as well. I was always a functional addict. Never made a scene, never lost a job, never was intervened with or told that I should think about quitting.
I've used lifting/jogging as a crutch to fill the void. Seems to be working so far. I'm happy. There's days where I feel less patient and less happy-go-lucky than I used to be though. I'm also less generous and less sentimental. I've learned that this is to be expected and that it'll take time to feel completely like myself again. I sometimes worry that all this time....the 'niceness' part of my identity was just being propped up by substance abuse.
It's weird. I get tempted to use again by the opposite of what people would think normally. Like for instance.....if one of the kids is having a birthday party....I feel like if I give myself a little taste....I'll be much better in dealing with all the children. My temptation is not about going out and partying....it's about being a better father/partner. Without the drugs/booze I'm just not as lively and not as inspired with the kids. Not as romantic with my SO. Not as interested in my hobbies.
I like alcohol but because of family history, I dont imbibe too much but I like craft beers, good wine and whiskey.
Weed is my friend all forms of it. Thank you very much

probably two beers on average. Of course they're usually pretty strong; everything I've been drinking lately is 8% ABV ballpark.
Funny thing is people have always assumed I'm a pothead, from the time I was 15 or and still happening today (mid-40s). Last time the conversation came up (which was just last wkd) the other people didn't believe I've never even tried.
