"Legal question....RE: video content"

Me and my co-owners wanted to put up a variety of different video content on our website and one idea we had was to have our emcees spit their favorite verse by another artist on camera and post it on our site. I was wondering if we could get sued for copyright infringement or anything like that

Thanks in advance for the knowledge

Peace!

If it's more of an indie fan project, legal departments might be more lenient unless it blew up fairly wide (see also: fan covers of songs on YouTube).

It's a violation of the copyright of the song publishing. Have you considered asking for permission?
