Yeah definitely agree about losing the heavy makeup and lacefronts. I feel like the makeup just hides the cuteness that's already there. She don't need it. Lacefronts are just the devil regardless. Believe it or not, I thought the last scene of the video with the blond hair looked nice on her, despite my feelings on blond hair.

I dunno how much music she's put out, but it seems like she just comes back with a song every now and then and hopes this will be the one that blows up. Sometimes the doors don't really open until the hours have been put in. The people at the top of the rap game right now put out at least 3 albums worth of free material before they got some real shine.
And hell, sometimes it just isn't in the cards for some people like that. Not to mention she's a Black woman. Black women get these major cosigns and STILL get hate... even from Black folks. (Rapsody, Tink, it's maddening). Black folks ain't supportin our own like the young white girls support Iggy, but we mad when Iggy gettin called the new face of Hip Hop and shit. Seems like she just never knew what to focus on, and she's done too much to hurt her image. As much as we all laughed at her rushing the stage with Jay and Alicia, that COMPLETELY killed her in the game until she played Left-Eye, which people were shocked that she did a good job at. And even then, that didn't make people wanna hear her music.
Plus, she came up in a time where she had to be super trendy/commercial/for the kids in that 07-08 Get lite/Chicken Noodle Soup/Ron Browz era. NOBODY from that era survived.

And with the background, ehhh it's different. If Lil Mama had been a hot artist, that moment would have been laughable, but not dangerous. People already didn't take her serious, so running on stage just extremely damaged her.

I meant the grinding harder comment as it pertains to music. It's like she does all this other stuff that isn't music but then wonders why music doors don't open.
I've seen the 105 interview tho. It probably wasn't a good look overall, but kinda endeared me to her a bit more, honestly.

To be a viable female entertainer, looks are a big part of the package. That same criteria isn't necessarily extended to males in entertainment, especially music. Of course looks help them with marketability too but the unattractive and regular ones are still able gain traction as long as the talent is there. For females it's not as easy without " the look " .
