you're always gonna have the armchair activists changing their profile pictures and reposting shit thinking they're doing something.
and you got people who were working with the youth before the latest attention grabbing incident that'll still be working with them after the news cycles and it's on the the next thing.

I commend people who do it FT.
i can only speak for somalis up here. after my cousin got shot i kinda dove into community work. my biggest opposition BY FAR has been my own people. i've had many meetings/days where i wanna be like "hey you know what? i'm out. y'all stay killing each other. peace."

the ones who are doin the dirt are between 19-27ish...and stuck on stupid ...the ones who could reach em...are stuck on stupid also
i say concentrate on the kids and the school system especially special education.... fix the alternative schools and find alternatives methods of teaching... i dont think there is enough emphasis on the approach of special education and these kids with serious cognitive issues
and the #1 problem with most of the issues in this city...... the court system
if ya'll had any clue about how many killers (not dealers) roam free based on technicalities...
there was a time a few years back when they (the police) were ONLY worried about gettin the guns....ALOT of dudes were gettin jammed up when they went that route....but so were the regular eryday law abiding cats....if u were dirty they would let u go...they were only lookin for guns..... numbers dropped...then the next generation came right in an here we are
