Many Jewish children went to live with catholic families when their own families were taken to concentration camps. After the war Jewish families attempted to reclaim their children. The catholic church sent out a directive that stated the children should not be returned to their parents..

It is a list of instructions for French authorities on how to deal with demands from Jewish officials who want to reclaim Jewish children.

It also contains an order not to allow Jewish children who had been baptized Catholic to go home to their own parents. "This, obviously, is for children who would not have been baptized."
