"so detriot stepppers step to Stevie Wonder's my eyes don't cry?"

i got a thought you knew or expected that kind of reaction. i know a few folks from the D and it was like yeah.

now i like parts of that song, however parts of it sounded like a flower pot episode in which Marla Gibbs character was styling in a window for no reason like it was just a background groove, however
I heard "My eyes don't cry" goes hard for stepping and doing the Hustle
in Detriot.

learn something new everyday.

Lol, I didn't know that but if your song becomes the "electric slide" or "hustle" song it will be a hit forever or at least at all weddings.

I miss regionalism in music, now when I travel the radio stations all play the same songs.

>stations all play the same songs.

> In the south, (Georgia at least) they got this kind of R&B - sort of Clarence Carter "I been strokin'" or Marvin Sease - that sounds SOOOOOO SIMPLISTIC and basic - yet it's their thing.

The northern radio stations (I left NY in 2010) definitely don't play this simplistic Southern stuff.

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone when I go to a cookout in Georgia and they play nothing but this simplistic HIGHLY SEXUALLY EXPLICIT R&B stuff.

Man that's that southern soul/blues , that's some good stuff but I guess you have to be from the south to appreciate it

I know the more current stuff can sound simplistic but it's rooted n that good stuff tyrone Davis/ johnnie Taylor

Detroit ballroom dancing. Probably related to stepping somehow. And yeah back when I was young I would ONLY hear My Eyes Don't Cry at clubs/weddings/etc.

DJ threw it on during a long ass "Hustle" set. I was hollerin at a chick at the bar and her friends ran up on her like "giiirrrrl we finna break out these new steps, c'mon now!"

I was left alone at the bar thanks to Stevie Wonder.
