End of 2013 I moved to a new apt in midtown, 5 min from downtown, so I could have more space. Still work from home, just a different location. I remember okps being really mad I was quite confident I could do this.

worked at the last job for 6.5 years before I quit.
Even though I was a manager for 4.5 of those years, that was way too long to be working retail.

job as if it is temporary. I document and communicate institutional knowledge. I approach my work as if I might not be the person executing these task next year.

Part of that comes from working in the nonprofit sector. Nonprofits are notorious allowing institutional knowledge to go undocumented, and when an employee leaves those who are left (and those who come in after) are struggling to maintain daily business.
