Now that we're almost halfway through the season and the last episode was pretty plot-loaded, let's recap.

Interesting fact on the guy who wrote "Sons of the Harpy": "We had an assistant named Dave Hill," said Benioff and Weiss. "One day last summer he walked into our office and said, 'You know that kid (Olly) whose family gets massacred by the wildlings? The one who runs to Castle Black to let them know the wildlings are nearby?' 'Yeah?' 'Well,' said Dave, doesn't it make sense that he'd stay at Castle Black and become a Night's Watch recruit? Where else is he going to go?' 'You're right,' we said. 'That does make sense.' 'And what if during the battle for Castle Black, he's the one who ends up killing Ygritte?' This year, Dave Hill is a writer on the show."

So far, Dave has done a great job. I loved this episode.

Sand Snakes: I was worried about how they were going to set up the Martells in Dorne given that Arianne and Quentyn have been nixed from the plot. As I suspected, they gave Arianne's "role" in the Queenmaking to Ellaria. It's interesting that they made Tyene her daughter, but it works. I wonder if a Darkstar-type character will show himself... I'm guessing no, since Ellaria is still grieving too much to take another lover. Hell, she cut off all her hair. That's some serious grief.

Cersi is stupid and a danger to herself. With all the telegraphing that Lancel did, you still want to arm the faith? I know it happened in the book, but in the book the High Septon/Sparrow more or less demanded it in return for blessing Tommen as the new king. Here, her dumb ass suggests it. I feel like the preview for the episode when they get HER ass will be Tywin telling her she isn't as smart as she thinks she is.

Grey Worm and Barristan Selmy BET NOT BE DEAD! They did say going into the season that someone would die who was not yet dead in the books (which they have done before R.I.P. Jojen). I don't think Grey Worm is dead, but I can see them murking Barristan. It opens the door for Jorah to come back (cause without him Danyeras doesn't have a proper Westeros knight guarding her) and for Tyrion to counsel her (because Barrison was the closest thing to a small council she had).

I'm wondering what role Stannis' daughter is going to play. I wondered the same thing about her in the books. There can't be this much focus put on her for no reason. Shit, we know more about her than Tommen really.

I'm tired of Peter creeping on Sansa and I really want her to get a clue. I mean, she knows he's scheming on her and she is kinda backed into a corner, but she's still, seemingly, too trusting in him. You gonna marry Ramsay? Really? Waiting on Theon to step in here and grow some balls (pun intended).

yeah that was dumb but they basically used that as her vehicle to get margery back (im thinking as a complete replacement of the book storyline of cersei saying margaery was unfaithful/a slut)

It wouldn't be the first time. Remember when Sansa learns about how The Hound's face got burned in the books? And that was pushed back in the show to when Sandor and Arya were travelling together? I thought that was brilliantly done and far more appropriate than the book.

9 will be when Cersei is finally broken, but her punishment comes in the last episode of the season

The last 20 min of ep 9, with the last ten minutes resvered for dany and drogon

I think in ep 10 will be the dinner with the broken cersei, tommen and Kevin. The. Kevin leaves and gets got when varys pops back up

Not sure Kevan, Tommen and Cersei needs to happen (maybe just minus Cersei). I think her arc ends more effectively with her declaration of a trial by battle, alongside the reveal of FrankenMountain.

Varys can still pop Kevan with or without Cersei being present at the Small Council

how broken and subdued cersei is, i think it would be good for the viewers of the show to see cersei like that because we have known her as the power bitch for basically the whole series. it will be interesting to see how the actor who plays tommen reacts and uses his face to see his mother like that

i think the revel of frankenmountain will happen before seasons end with the trial to happen next season

i think GRRM will release winds of winter sometime around christmas or early 2016 or maybe right before season 6 airs in april 2016

so we have the book version of cersei's trial by combat before we see it on the show

Some folks think that Jon dies and is resurrected by the Night King (who used to be a Lord Commander and a Stark)) then he goes on to fight Daeny. Though since the title of the series of "Song of Fire and Ice" that suggests to me that Jon and Daeny would hook up and not battle each other. Though Martin rarely gives the readers what they want, hahah.

Though I guess by Season 6 Brandon Stark returns as the 3 eyed crow, I would imagine he would be pretty damn powerful, perhaps powerful enough to change Jon if he did become a wight.. Hmmmmm

Well, if Jon dies and is written off, wouldn't it be difficult for Martin to incorporate the Night's Watch in the main story? Which other main characters are involved with the Night's Watch outside of Jon by the time he presumably gets killed?

but did Jon get killed fighting the whitewalkers in the books? I ask because it looks as if the zombie-fied whitewalkers are only created if they are killed by whitewalkers, so for your theory of Jon to be come a whilewalker to be accurate, he would have to have been killed by whitewalkers in the books.
