Naw truth is while it took me a long time to get on it and a long time to check regularly, now I do daily and it provides a good lead for stories and news to check for. I like it. It's one of my go to news/gossip/current event jokes aggregators.
However, I think the learning curve is too steep and there isn't much need for it as an everyday tool for most people to share their thoughts.
You might get more people to be passive followers but you'll never get the masses to be active users.
It's a great tool for celebrities and influencers to communicate to the masses (although IG can give it a run for it's money) but not something most people need in their social media toolkit.
At least that's what I have been thinking and the market seems to agree.
Anyone go long on the stock?

competition. And it was like "Oh, Blackplanet's out, now MySpace is in. Oh, MySpace got ghetto, now it's Facebook."
People have tried to do the same thing for the last 5-6 years, but IG, Twitter, and Facebook, can all co-exist because each have a completely different setup, different crowds, and different purposes.
What I do notice about Twitter is that even with me following 3,000 people, feels like I see the same 50-60 folks Tweets. Or either the same 50-60 respond to me.

Cheers to the founders for owning what probably should be departments of bigger media companies. Not having to answer to public company bean counters allowed them to build great services... but I think these services will eventually have to diversify into other forms of media in order to break out of their niches and maximize the values of their user bases.

I'd otherwise never would've interacted w/ or met.
It's interesting how once something is engaged by too many marginalized folks (i.e. providing them w/ a space/platform that is usually reserved for people w/ more power) it immediately outruns its utility.
There's a gentrification of sorts w/in these SM sites.
